Strzelce County has a total of more than 258 km of cycling routes. When planning your trip, it is worth looking at individual marked routes: their lengths and courses vary considerably. This lets you choose excursions by distance and stopovers, rather than treating the total figure as a single route. In addition to the cycling routes, marked trails pass through the landscape and lead to cultural sites, for example around Góra św. Anny. If you are looking for accommodation, your preferred tour length can be a useful starting point for planning; the cycling routes described here range from 11.4 to 43.3 km.

Cycling routes by length and course

At 11.4 km, the black-marked cycling route No. 166 is the shortest of these four described routes. It runs from Zawadzkie-Świerkle via Zawadzkie railway station and the forest district office to Kąty. The red-marked route No. 18 covers 22.6 km and runs from Staniszcze Małe via Staniszcze Wielkie, Łaziska and Jemielnica to Centawa. At 24.2 km, the green-marked cycling route No. 19 is a similar length: from Kielcza, it runs via Żędowice, Zawadzkie-Świerkle, Pietraszów, Stawy Pluderskie, Regolowiec and Brzyniczka to Kolonowskie. Part of this route runs outside Strzelce County.

At 43.3 km, the blue-marked cycling route No. 163 is longer than the other routes listed here. It runs from the edge of Zawadzkie via Stawy Pluderskie, Regolowiec, Kolonowskie, Fosowskie, Staniszcze Małe, Krasiejów, Spórok, Staniszcze Wielkie and Kąty. The distances offer a direct comparison between shorter and longer tours; the sequences of places also distinguish the routes. Check the route markings and trail conditions before setting off.

Nature and culture along marked trails

The green-marked flora and fauna trail is 15 km long and runs from Góra św. Anny via Wysoka, the “Ligota Dolna” nature reserve, Oleszka and Żyrowa, then back to Góra św. Anny. The reserve covers 4.90 hectares and is notable for its distinctive plant life. This includes dry grasslands as well as other vascular plants, mosses and lichens. Following this route lets you combine the trail with a look at the habitats described in the reserve.

The yellow-marked walking trail, named after Xawery Dunikowski, is 3.7 km long and loops around Góra św. Anny, from the market square via a ravine, the amphitheatre, a lime kiln, the Czynu Powstańczego monument, an old inn, Dom Pielgrzyma and the Basilica of św. Anny, returning to the market square. This sequence links different stops along a short route. The rock amphitheatre on Góra św. Anny can accommodate about 30,000 people; this capacity figure indicates the scale of this cultural site.

The Boże Oko and Grafik nature reserves also offer different natural features. Boże Oko covers 57.31 hectares and is dedicated to preserving a beech stand with specimens that are 160 years old in the Klucz forest district. The 27.66-hectare Grafik nature reserve is also in the Klucz forest district and is covered by a naturally shaped, 130-year-old beech stand. The descriptions emphasize different aspects: Boże Oko focuses on preserving the beech stand, while Grafik highlights its natural character. Together with the plant features of Ligota Dolna, these areas show how varied the nature destinations described in the county are.
