Zalesie is part of the municipality of Żabia Wola. Historically, the village is connected with the Ojrzanów estate complex and is mentioned alongside Żabia Wola in a tourist itinerary of localities. For a stay, this makes it possible to distinguish the village’s history from the municipality’s separate cultural and nature destinations, rather than assuming that all attractions are within Zalesie.

In addition to Zalesie, the historic Ojrzanów estate included Ojrzanów, Zaręby, Kaleń, Wesoła Wola, Powsinek and Rakowiec. Wesoła Wola is identified here as Żabia Wola. This is a historical connection between several localities, not a list of manor houses that are currently open to the public.
A tourist route description gives the sequence Osowiec, Musuły, Władysławów, Zalesie and Żabia Wola. This sequence alone does not indicate current trail markings or a particular mode of transport. If you want to follow this connection, check in advance which routes are suitable for your travel dates.
In Żabia Wola: manor house history and a frog museum
The manor house complex in Żabia Wola dates from the early 19th century. This gives the village its own architectural history, distinct from Zalesie’s historical connection to the Ojrzanów estate complex. The date refers to the complex; it does not indicate the construction year of every individual building.
The Mini Muzeum Żaby is one of the activities of the Dom Kultury in Żabia Wola. The museum’s website lists a collection of 2,200 exhibits. While viewing the frog collection, visitors can listen to a recording by Andrzej Jendrych about the museum’s history and its exhibits. This is a specific small cultural destination in Żabia Wola, not in Zalesie.
Ceramics, art, painting and crafts workshops are also described for groups, by arrangement. The price depends on the type and duration of the workshop and is agreed individually. Groups should therefore arrange a program that is actually available; this is not a drop-in course that starts at any time.
A forest walk or a longer cycling loop?
Lasek Żabiowolski lies between ul. Warszawska in Żabia Wola and Huta Żabiowolska. The woodland is used for walks, picnics, recreation and play. An ecological educational trail features information boards about nature and history. For an outing focused on this kind of interpretation, it offers a different experience from a museum visit.
A municipal strategy also mentions a 45-kilometre cycling route that runs via Grodzisk Mazowiecki, Kuklówka, Radziejowice, Żabia Wola, Kaleń and Żelechów before returning to Grodzisk Mazowiecki. This described cycling loop should not be confused with the previously mentioned sequence of localities through Zalesie. Before setting out, check current routes and your chosen starting point.

Search for accommodation in Zalesie using the exact address of each property and the visits you have planned. Being in the same municipality does not mean that the museum is a short walk away or that every described route is directly accessible.
