The Tarn Greenway runs through Labastide-Saint-Pierre. The section between Labastide-Saint-Pierre and Orgueil is 3.029 kilometres long, providing a precise distance to help you plan. There are also visits focused on wine and agriculture, as well as the Église Saint Pierre-aux-liens in the town centre. Cycling, wine tastings, a farm visit, and a cultural stop offer different ways to spend your stay.
Cycling and outdoor activities
The cycle route runs along the Bressols–Haute-Garonne axis, passing through Orgueil and Nohic. The final section of the greenway was officially opened to pedestrians and cyclists. Check current access before planning a specific ride. The Aire de jeux is also located on the Tarn Greenway: it offers children a play area, as well as a multi-sport court and a fitness trail. This means there are other opportunities for outdoor activities besides the cycle route.
Town centre and farm visit
The Église Saint Pierre-aux-liens stands in the town centre, in the square in front of the town hall. There is a car park right next to the church, and a second one a little farther away, behind the church on the right. This makes it easy to combine a visit to the church with a look around the town hall square. The Fête de Saint Pierre aux liens is celebrated on 1 August, adding a specific date to the town’s cultural calendar.
Ferme Denola is an outdoor educational farm where children and adults can observe animals and learn about farming. Guided tours are available. The farm can be reached in less than a 30-minute walk from the LABASTIDE-SAINT-PIERRE – ZA Grd Sud Logi stop on the Verdun-sur-Garonne–Montauban line. If you are planning a visit, check in advance which tour options are available on your preferred date.
Wineries and regional cuisine
Château Saint-Louis welcomes visitors year-round for winery tours and wine tastings. Its vines grow on the former terraces of the Tarn. Wines produced at Château de Belaygues include red and rosé AOP Fronton wines, as well as white IGP Comté-Tolosan wine. The estate offers tours, tastings, picnics, and workshops, so there is more to do than just sample the wines. At Domaine de Lescure, you can find red, rosé, and white AOP and IGP wines. Domaine de Lescure has 24 hectares of vineyards and around 12 hectares of hazelnut cultivation, combining winegrowing with another agricultural crop.
For a culinary addition, there is Restaurant Al PaĂŻs, which serves regional cuisine made with local produce, as well as pastries and chocolate. So, in addition to cycling and culture, Labastide-Saint-Pierre offers specific experiences centred on wine, farm visits, and regional cuisine.
