A short section of the Chemin de Compostelle passes through Tréjouls. Together with the commune’s natural heritage, two 15th-century churches and an art trail in the forest, it offers a varied view of the area: pilgrimage route, architecture, landscape, art and farm produce are distinct highlights. When looking for accommodation, you can first decide what interests you most: the art trail and nature, churches and hiking, or farm produce and event dates.

An art trail spanning photography and land art

The Sentier expo de Tréjouls is an open-air exhibition about 1 km long that you can explore on a walk. The trail is an easy forest path with free access; as conditions may change seasonally, check them before your visit. Along the way, 40 large photographs displayed in the trees show the wild inhabitants of the surrounding area. There are also land-art works. The two art forms offer different points of focus: the photographs draw attention to wildlife, while the land art adds to the outdoor exhibition experience. With its approximate length and two forms of expression, the trail is a short activity in its own right, and can be considered one highlight alongside visits to churches or farms.

Tréjouls has remarkable natural heritage, with five zones of ecological, faunal and floristic interest. The art trail offers a specific walk; the five zones represent the commune’s natural heritage as a whole. In this way, one exhibition trail complements the broader perspective on nature.

Two 15th-century churches

The Église Sainte-Marie de l’Assomption in Tréjouls was built in the 15th century. The Église Saint-Urcisse, located in Saint-Urcisse, also dates from the 15th century. A marked hiking trail starts at this church. This connects the church there with a specific starting point for a hike: Sainte-Marie is in Tréjouls, while the trail starts at the church in Saint-Urcisse. If you include both place names in your plans, be sure to keep their locations distinct.

Farm produce and opening hours

GAEC du Lendou sells organic products directly from the farm: grains, fruit, fruit juices, chickpeas, millet, flour and wood-fired sourdough bread. Sales at the Fournil are listed for Tuesdays and Fridays, from 5 to 7 p.m.; check the hours before your visit. If you plan to shop there, arrange your visit around these hours and confirm them in advance.

GAEC de la Terre à l’Assiette sells guinea fowl, chickens and black Noirans chickens directly from the farm. Pastis and Croustades du Quercy are available to order. The offerings therefore also differ for shopping plans: GAEC du Lendou focuses on organic produce and bread, while Terre à l’Assiette offers poultry and specialities that can be ordered.

Music and dinner on selected dates

Les guinguettes in Tréjouls is listed for June, July and August, with dinner and music. Espanel is listed for July, with classical music concerts. Check the specific dates before your trip if you plan to attend either offering. The month listings provide a general seasonal guide, but do not replace checking the individual event dates.
