Golf, local history and landscapes shape different sides of Šajdíkove Humence. The Penati Golf Resort is home to two 18-hole courses, which are central to the area’s golf appeal; historical buildings, traditional folk architecture and routes through the town offer other points of interest. This lets you tailor your stay to a range of interests without conflating these different themes.

Golf courses with distinct profiles

The Heritage Course at the Penati Golf Resort is the resort’s second 18-hole golf course and was officially opened in August 2013. The Legend Course at the Penati Golf Resort in Šajdíkove Humence is also an 18-hole course, built to plans by Nicklaus Design. It meets USGA standards at world-class PGA level.

The 15th hole of the Legend Course offers particularly specific measurements: it is 712 metres long, is considered the longest hole in Central Europe and has 11 tee boxes. The details highlight different aspects: for the Heritage Course, the resort’s history and its opening in 2013 take centre stage; for the Legend Course, its design and the features of the 15th hole give a closer impression of the course.

Church, bell tower and folk architecture

The Church of St Augustine is a 20th-century architectural structure. It was built in the 1940s and consecrated in 1951. A wooden cross depicting Jesus on the cross also dates from 1951 and is one of the historical and cultural sights of Šajdíkove Humence. Both examples point to different forms of local history: a church building and a cultural object in its own right.

A bell tower with a wooden roof is also among the historically and culturally valuable objects. The settlement of U Michálkov offers another perspective on local architectural history: House No. 169 is one of the best-preserved examples of traditional folk architecture in Šajdíkove Humence. The church, bell tower and house differ in form and context, offering distinct ways to explore local history.

Myjava landscapes and routes

Šajdíkove Humence lies in the Myjava catchment area. The local landscape includes wetlands, sand dunes and pine forests. These landscape features add a natural dimension to the routes through the town: the descriptions mention wet areas, sand formations and woodland.

The Senica–Šaštín cycle route follows the Myjava through Šaštín-Stráže, Borský Mikuláš, Štefanov and Šajdíkove Humence. Its two sections are connected in the cadastral area of Šajdíkove Humence, at road III/1156. As construction and completion status may change, it is advisable to check the latest information before setting out.

The Záhorácka magistrála, route 0772, also passes through Šajdíkove Humence; 5.5 kilometres of it lie within the town. The two routes are described in different ways: for the cycle route, the course and connection between sections are given, while for route 0772, the distance within the town is specified. Check the information about the Záhorácka magistrála before departure.

Church fairs throughout the year

Local traditions include summer and autumn church fairs held in connection with the anniversary of the church’s consecration on 12 June. If you would like to plan your stay around a church fair, check the specific dates before travelling.
