Belá-Dulice lies in the mountainous surroundings of the Veľká Fatra, in the northeastern part of the Turiec Basin. The municipality is home to a historic bell tower and an early Gothic church; routes and activities also extend into Jasenská and Belianska dolina. This lets you consider cultural history, hiking, cycling and seasonal cross-country skiing as different focuses for your stay.

Cultural Monuments and Different Historical Periods

The historic bell tower at Rajčuli in Dulice dates from 1861. The Roman Catholic Church of Najsvätejšieho tela Kristovho in Belá-Dulice is an early Gothic church from the last third of the 13th century. Its renovations in 1749 and 1856 mark later stages in its architectural history and should be distinguished from the date of its construction.

Dulický Hrádok is a National Cultural Monument and an archaeological site from the early historical period. Hradište is also a National Cultural Monument from this period. It also features a trapezoidal ground plan from the La Tène period. At Hradište, the shape of the ground plan is therefore one of its distinctive features, alongside its historical context.

The Turčianske divadelné dni is an annual regional competition and showcase for Belopotockého Mikuláš amateur adult theatre and FEDIM youth theatre. The municipality of Belá-Dulice is a co-organiser; the event takes place at the cultural centre in Belá-Dulice. If you would like to include theatre in your trip, check the specific event dates before planning.

Hiking, Cycling and Seasonal Cross-Country Skiing

The educational trail between the municipality of Belá-Dulice and the Jasenská dolina–Kašová recreation centre has been open since 2009. It is suitable for recreational and sporting activities such as Nordic walking. Jasenská dolina is a year-round recreation centre, although seasonal operating conditions may vary. Check local trail conditions before including the educational trail in your plans.

A marked blue cycling route runs from Belá-Dulice to Jasenská dolina and is 8 km long. Check the signs and local conditions on site. Jasenská dolina also has three groomed cross-country ski trails with a total length of 7 km; grooming is seasonal.

A moderately difficult hike leads from Belianska dolina and Jasenská dolina to Lysec, at an elevation of 1,381 m. Lysec is a national nature reserve. The difficulty rating can help you choose a hike; also check current trail conditions on site.

The two distance figures refer to different activities: 8 km is the length of the cycling route between Belá-Dulice and Jasenská dolina, while 7 km is the combined length of three cross-country ski trails. When planning, it is therefore important to consider whether you are looking for a marked cycling connection or several groomed trails. The hike to Lysec adds another option, with a stated difficulty level and summit elevation.
