At the center of Corbeanca stands the Biserica cu hramul „Buna Vestire“ de la Corbeanca; on the shore of Lake Corbeanca is the Pescarium Corbeanca fishing complex. Church architecture, local history, cultural offerings and landscapes each provide a different focus. When planning your visit, it is worth deciding first whether you are mainly interested in historic sites or in lakes and forests.

Church architecture and archaeological sites

A heritage listing updated in 2024 describes the Biserica cu hramul „Buna Vestire“ de la Corbeanca as a church building from the modern era. Its layout consists of a nave without side apses and a recessed altar apse. The modern-era necropolis belonging to the church comprises four excavated tomb structures. The church building and necropolis thus represent two distinct aspects of local history.

Another archaeological area is called “Situl arheologic de la Corbeanca (Mecheaua) – Staţia de pompare”. It lies on the north bank of the Cociovaliştea River, southeast of the hamlet of Mecheaua, and extends to the border with Săftica. This precise location distinguishes the site from the church building in the center of Corbeanca.

Casa Frusina and cultural offerings

Casa Frusina was built in Corbeanca in the 1920s–1930s by Frusina Nicolae. Visits can be arranged by appointment through the Asociația „Monumente Renăscute“. So if you would like to visit the house, arrange a time with the organization. A report dated September 1, 2026, mentions exhibitions, concerts and hands-on workshops in connection with Casa Frusina. The activities described include opportunities for children to learn how farmhouses were built.

The ensemble also includes Hambarul, a modernist annex inspired by traditional architecture. In September 2025, the plan was to use the annex, once completed, as a multifunctional cultural space for performances, concerts and educational activities.

Lakes, forests and recreation

The municipality of Corbeanca is home to a chain of lakes comprising Valea Mocanului, Valea Vârtop and Valea Cocivaliștea. The municipality is also home to the forests Pădurea Tamași, Pădurea Corbeanca and Pădurea Petrești, which are part of Codrii Vlăsiei. Water and forest shape the municipality’s landscape in different ways.

Parcul Corbeanca serves the municipality’s residents as a place for recreation and leisure. Pescarium Corbeanca, in turn, is a fishing complex on the shore of Lake Corbeanca. A tourism study published in 2022 gives an area of 22 hectares and a depth of between 3 and 10 meters for the fishing area associated with it.

Corbeanca therefore offers a range of themes for planning a trip: church architecture and archaeological history, culture around Casa Frusina, and lakes, forests and recreation. When comparing accommodations for your stay, you can use these interests as a guide and consider which you would like to focus on.
