A pentagonal church façade, mountain-view trails and the history of the Minas de Vieiros offer different ways to discover Rebordelo. There is also the Ponte de Arame, a classified geosite and two recurring festival dates. You can focus your stay on architecture, mining history, landscape or local culture. If you are looking for a holiday rental, first consider whether you want a festival to shape your travel dates or whether local history and landscape should take centre stage.

Church, Bridge and Mining History

The municipal planning decision, published in 2026, lists the Igreja Matriz de Rebordelo as inventoried architectural heritage. Its pentagonal façade and rear tower give the building two distinctive architectural features. The pentagonal front highlights its geometry, while the rear tower adds another distinct feature to the structure.

The Ponte de Arame represents another aspect of the area’s history. At the beginning of the 20th century, it played an essential role in mobility and trade between local communities. It is therefore also part of the social and economic history of these communities.

The Minas de Vieiros are part of Vieiros’ local identity and employed many people until the 1970s. They are of recognised public interest because of their heritage, landscape, ecological and historical significance. Here, the economic past, local identity, and heritage and natural values come together. If you plan to visit the mines, check the current access conditions in advance.

Geosite and Trails in Vieiros

The Mina de Vieiros is recognised in Rebordelo as a classified natural heritage geosite. Vieiros also offers trails with mountain views. There are trails with mountain views in Vieiros.

Following its reopening in 2025, the Ponte de Arame improved access to the nearby Ecopista do Tâmega. If you would like to include the Ecopista in your plans, check current access to the bridge and trail before your visit.

Festival Dates and Traditional Crafts

The events calendar also offers two distinct dates to plan around. The festival in honour of Nossa Senhora das Neves takes place on 5 August or the nearest Sunday. In November, Rebordelo welcomes many visitors to the Feira do Caldo das Coibes, a tradition associated with Rebordelo. The two events have different timing: the August festival follows a day-based rule, while the Feira takes place during a November period. Check each year’s programme before planning your accommodation around a festival.

Rebordelo’s traditional crafts include basketry and weaving. Alongside festivals and mining history, these crafts offer another distinct cultural point of interest.
