Silnowo brings together landscape and local-history points of interest, as well as routes that differ by type and trail marking. Visitors weighing up lakes, cycling or hiking options, and local history for their stay will find specific points of interest in the town to help guide their choices.
Lakes and protected landscape
Silnowo lies north of Lake Pile and is part of the “Pojezierze Drawskie” Protected Landscape Area. Near Lower Silnowo, Lake Pile reaches a maximum depth of 43.9 metres. Lake Łączno lies east of the town, about 500 metres away, and covers an area of 50.78 hectares. The lakes offer different geographical points of reference: the depth figure refers to Lake Pile near Lower Silnowo, while Łączno is described by its approximate distance and area. The town’s location within a protected landscape area adds further context to its setting.
Cycling and hiking trails
The “Kraina małych jezior” cycling trail runs through Silnowo and along the shores of Lakes Komorze and Pile. The 161-kilometre, red-marked “Szlak Wzniesień Moreny Czołowej” hiking trail also passes through the town. A municipal description from 2007 also mentions an unmarked circular route around Lake Pile that passes through Silnowo and is more than 30 kilometres long. The routes differ in type, markings, and length. Before setting out, check the current trail markings and the condition of the circular route. For planning your stay, note that 161 kilometres is the total length of the red-marked hiking trail through Silnowo; the figure of more than 30 kilometres describes the loop around Lake Pile. These figures refer to complete routes, not the length of a single section in Silnowo, and can help you roughly assess the distance involved for each route.
Local history
The railway station building in Silnowo dates from 1935. A Protestant cemetery in the town dates back to around the turn of the 20th century. A municipal description from 2007 reported that it was in poor condition at the time; check its current condition before visiting. The station and cemetery represent different historical periods: a specific building from 1935 and a cemetery dating from around the turn of the century.
Recreation area and accommodation
A municipal plan from 2007 described a recreation area in the centre of Silnowo, with volleyball courts on grass and a small children’s playground with four pieces of equipment next to one of the volleyball courts. The plan also noted that the volleyball courts needed modernisation. Check the current condition of the courts and playground before visiting.
Dom Nad Jeziorem is listed as an agritourism accommodation at Silnowo 65, 78-446 Silnowo.
