In Losino, nature and culture come together along the Słupia River. The “Szlakiem troci i łososia” nature trail runs along the river in Łosino and offers the opportunity to visit an early medieval hillfort. The former manor park also offers insights into the history of the place. This gives you several specific highlights to consider when planning your trip: a nature trail, archaeological remains, the manor estate and a cycling route that returns to Łosino.
Nature Trail and Hillfort
The “Szlakiem troci i łososia” nature trail runs along the Słupia River in Łosino. It offers the opportunity to visit an early medieval hillfort, located east of Łosino in a bend in the river. The hillfort is a lowland hillfort of unknown type. Its historical context and riverside location offer two distinct points of interest on an outing: early history and the landscape of the Słupia. The Sołectwo Łosino is also located within the “Dolina Słupi” Landscape Park. If nature is your priority when choosing a destination, you can combine the landscape park setting with the nature trail; if you are primarily interested in history, the hillfort offers a specific early medieval highlight.
Manor Estate History Along the Słupia
The former manor park offers another perspective. It lies directly beside the Słupia River and is surrounded by old oak trees. The park is part of the former residential area of the manor and farmstead complex in Łosino. The park contains the tomb of Commander Maximilian von Zitzewitz, the last owner of Łosino, who died in 1937. Both the history of the former manor and a specific individual are therefore at the heart of this site.
A path leads from the former manor park’s western main entrance to the manor house ruins. Some of the park’s trees have been recognized as natural monuments. These details complement one another: the path leads to the structural remains, while the tomb and protected trees provide further points of interest within the park.
Routes Around Łosino
A cycling route starts in Łosino, passes through Krępa Słupska, Lubuń, Kwakowo, Lulemino, Kuleszewo, Kończewo and Sierakowo, and returns to Łosino. This sequence of places forms a loop. You can include this circuit in your trip planning as an option alongside the nature trail and the cultural and historical sights.
Another route is called Łosino–Krępa. It begins along a nature trail; the section from Krępa toward Lubuń then follows the “Dolina Słupi” trail. The route descriptions therefore differ in their focus: the cycling route forms a loop through several places, while on the route via Krępa, the nature trail at the beginning and the “Dolina Słupi” trail toward Lubuń provide orientation.
Getting There and Canoeing
Łosino can be reached from Kobylnica via National Road 21, which is part of the Słupsk–Poznań route. Construction of a canoeing station, including waterway and road signs, was completed behind the Łosino forester’s lodge in July 2018. If you are planning a canoe trip, please check in advance whether the station is currently in use.
