Nowa Sól combines salt history with hands-on experiments and leisure by the water. This gives you a range of options for planning your trip: a visit to Park Fizyki, a look at the historic Magazyn Solny or some relaxation at waterside spots.
Hands-on physics and the history of the salt trade
The four-hectare Park Fizyki offers 46 interactive educational devices for conducting experiments in mechanics, acoustics, hydrostatics and optics. The different topics give your visit a specific focus: you can explore several areas of physics rather than sticking to just one.
Magazyn Solny offers a different perspective on the city’s history. The building was constructed at the end of the 18th century and is the last surviving building from the time when Nowa Sól was an important hub in the salt trade. Today, it is also a venue for cultural events and social initiatives. This brings together the historical significance of the salt trade and a cultural use of the site.

Wodny Świat is located in Nadodrzański Park Rekreacyjny. There are opportunities there to relax, fish and enjoy leisure activities by the water. Park Krasnala is home to Soluś, described as the world’s largest garden gnome and listed in the Guinness Book of Records.
Neusalz: more attractions in the wider destination
The wider destination of Neusalz also offers green spaces, sports and cycling routes in Nowa Sól. Park Kacza Górka is a 14.5-hectare green space with a body of water, suitable for walks and relaxation. Nadodrzański Park Rekreacyjny is presented as a place for active recreation; Park Linowy has several courses with varying levels of difficulty.
There are two different descriptions of the BMX facilities: the BMX racing track is 360 metres long. The BMX skatepark has a BMX track described as one of the largest in Poland and meeting Olympic standards. The stated length of the racing track and the described size of the skatepark track refer to different features.
The cycling routes also differ in length and course. The yellow Czarciego Kamienia cycling route is 65 kilometres long and starts and ends in Nowa Sól. The approximately 58-kilometre “Kolej na rower” cycling route includes the Stypułów–Nowa Sól and Nowa Sól–Sławocin sections, which are connected by a network of urban cycle paths. The route lengths give you a concrete sense of the scale of the two cycling options.
Museum, water and getting there
The Muzeum Miejskie in Nowa Sól features the permanent exhibition “Wnętrza mieszczańskie”. Its education department organises museum lessons, workshops, educational trails and guided tours. It also works with local educational institutions and organises annual competitions for children and school students. Excursion boats dock at the port of Nowa Sól, offering trips on the Oder along the Nowa Sól–Cigacice–Bytom Odrzański–Głogów route. Check current dates for specific trips. WakePark offers wakeboarding as a watersport activity. Alongside the parks and cycling routes, there are also activities to choose from on and by the water.
The PKP Nowa Sól complex is in the city centre, right next to city buses and taxis. It is worth checking suitable connections in advance for your journey; information about transport options alone is no substitute for checking a specific connection.
