The 32 km-long Szlak Niepodległości runs through Walerianowo and places connected with the local routes along which Poland gained its independence. This gives the destination a connection between a specific route and a historical theme. For planning purposes, it is helpful to distinguish between the two: 32 km refers to the length of the entire trail, while Walerianowo is a place along its route. Stops on line 703 provide an additional point of reference for getting there; cultural events offer a separate perspective on the history of the place and its surroundings.

Plan your journey and route

The ZTM Poznań timetable, valid from 7 September 2026, lists the Walerianowo/Brzozowa nż. and Walerianowo/Bukowa nż. stops on line 703. As this information applies to a specific validity date and timetables may change, check the connection for your travel date before setting off.

In the associated municipality, the Szlak begins at the sports stadium in Komorniki on ul. Jeziorna. Visitors can park their cars there and continue by bicycle; check local parking options before you arrive. For clarity, it helps to group the information by journey segment: the two stops relate to Walerianowo and line 703, while the stated starting point is the beginning of the bicycle route in Komorniki.

The red, 32 km-long route of the Szlak Niepodległości also passed through Walerianowo during the Rowerowy Rajd Niepodległości.

Cultural history and local themes

The two-day cultural and artistic event “Kulturalne lato w Walerianowie” was planned for June or July 2019; its planned program included an open-air cinema, among other things. An open-air theatre performance for children was planned for a several-hour cultural and artistic gathering in Walerianowo in 2019.

On 14 November 2025, the second meeting in the “Historia Rosnówka i Walerianowa” series focused on the former Olęder residents of these areas and the traces they left behind. This offers history enthusiasts two distinct thematic perspectives: routes associated with Poland’s independence and the traces of former Olęder residents.

Events in the surrounding area

In the destination’s surrounding area, six kayak trips took place on 1, 9 and 30 August 2020 as part of the “Wakacyjne spływy kajakowe” project for the Sołectwo Walerianowo–Rosnówko.

The “Komornickie miodobranie 2025” festival took place on 25 May 2025 at the DK Klub in Rosnówko and was part of the Sołectwo Walerianowo–Rosnówko. The two events differ in their time frame: six kayak trips on three August dates, compared with a festival held on a single day in May.
