Jarocin brings together the history of its town hall, a permanent exhibition at the Regional Museum, Radolińskich Park and places connected with Polish rock history. This lets you plan your stay around different interests: architecture and museums, a longer hike or cultural discoveries. If you’re looking for hotels in Jarocin, it helps to first decide which of these themes will shape your visit.

Town Hall, Museum and Local History

Jarocin Town Hall is recognizable by the arcaded walkways on its ground floor. Massive pillars support the arcades. The building was constructed between 1799 and 1804 on the site of earlier buildings dating from the 14th to the 18th centuries. Its architecture and construction history can therefore be considered together in a specific place, without conflating the earlier buildings with the present-day town hall.

The Regional Museum is located in Pałac Radolińskich. Its permanent exhibition is devoted to the history, culture and artistic traditions of the Jarocin region. The same museum is also home to Strefa Odkrywania Wyobraźni i Aktywności, or SOWA, which promotes learning through independent exploration and experimentation. This combines a thematic look at the region with an independent way of discovering it.

Skarbczyk is also part of the Regional Museum’s current offering: it is a branch of the museum in Jarocin. Anyone wishing to learn about several aspects of local history can consider it as another museum site alongside the permanent exhibition.

Radolińskich Park and the Green Hiking Trail

Radolińskich Park is a landscaped park covering about 30 hectares, laid out between 1840 and 1850. Its notable features include one of Europe’s longest hornbeam avenues and numerous trees of monumental status. The size gives a sense of the park’s scale; the avenue and notable trees provide specific landmarks in the landscape.

The green hiking trail is 24.5 kilometers long. It runs from the railway station via the market square and Pałac Radolińskich to Jarocin City Park. Its described route thus connects several of the places mentioned on a longer walk. If you’re planning to hike the trail, check current trail conditions beforehand.

Rock History, Murals and Performances

The Pomnik Glana refers to Jarocin’s festival tradition. The large-scale murals depicting the history of Polish rock offer another way to explore that history. They stem from the “Z kontrkultury w popkulturę” project associated with Spichlerz Polskiego Rocka; its editions have left these murals in Jarocin. Spichlerz is also a venue for various cultural and educational projects.

You can take a bike tour of the murals spread throughout Jarocin after contacting representatives of Stowarzyszenie RoweLOVE Jarocin. The Klubcafé Spichlerz offers young bands and established artists the opportunity to perform. Together, these activities show different points of contact with rock culture: public art, cultural projects and opportunities to perform.

Planning Your Stay

Jarocin railway station is at ul. Dworcowa 1 and is also the starting point of the green hiking trail. When planning your trip, you can therefore consider the route description separately from the museum or cultural themes, rather than combining them into a fixed itinerary. Would you rather focus on the park and the long hiking route, make the permanent exhibition your main focus or explore Jarocin’s rock history? This choice provides a concrete starting point for looking for a hotel in Jarocin, without presuming a particular accommodation location.
