Hasselberg is a state-recognized seaside resort directly on the Baltic Sea. The rural municipality is surrounded by fertile fields and natural meadows. Beach and practical information

The four-kilometer-long Kronsgaard/Hasselberg bathing beach is supervised by the DLRG during the season. Hasselberg has designated areas for nudists and dogs. As beach use may be subject to seasonal regulations, check local requirements before your visit.

Hasselberg Beach has a partially accessible entrance, but it does not extend all the way to the water. Two beach chairs can be reached by wheelchair via a paved path. A free beach wheelchair is available at the water rescue station; toilets are located at the DLRG station. As facilities and accessibility may change, it is advisable to check before your visit. The tourist information office is located directly on the B199 and is considered easy to reach.

Circular hike and barefoot park

The Deichwege & Waldpfade circular hike near Hasselberg is 4.82 kilometers long and rated moderate. It starts at Hasselberg campsite, right next to the Baltic Sea beach, and follows the coast between Hasselberg and Kronsgaard. The route passes through woodland and open meadows. The barefoot park offers a different focus: over more than 1.5 kilometers, it has play, sensory and balance stations on surfaces such as marsh, peat and wood. The attractions also include a petting zoo with native animals and an 18-hole mini-golf course. The difference is in the format: the circular hike is a single route, while the park brings together stations and other attractions.

Johannes Mill and the history of mill construction

The Johannes Mill is a cultural monument associated with the history of mill construction in Schleswig-Holstein. It is a two-story gallery Dutch windmill. The wooden body of the mill stands on an octagonal masonry base; the tower and cap are thatched. Its structure is therefore easy to identify: masonry at the base, wood for the mill body, and thatch on the tower and cap.

Geltinger Birk nearby

Nearby, the Geltinger Birk lies on a peninsula at the entrance to Flensburg Fjord. The nature reserve covers 773 hectares. Around 170 bird species can be observed there over the course of a year. A nature warden regularly leads guided walks around the Birk. As availability may vary, check the latest dates when planning your visit.
