Wisch is a settlement on the edge of the Geest, with houses set far apart, many hedgerows and plenty of greenery. The municipality is predominantly agricultural. When choosing a place to stay, you can compare this specific settlement pattern with your own preference for a rural setting.

Hof Frowähr: Activities and Products

Hof Frowähr offers educational, care and leisure activities for children and young people, as well as for people with and without disabilities. Visits to the farm are possible by arrangement; individual activities may also require prior arrangements. If you are planning a visit, coordinate it directly with the farm.

The offer also includes regional farm products, including meat from animals that have access to green spaces all year round. Collection takes place at the farm by prior arrangement. Confirm which products are currently available before your visit.

Consider Local Amenities When Choosing Where to Stay

There is neither a shop nor an inn in the municipality of Wisch. You can shop in Schwabstedt, Ramstedt, Husum or Friedrichstadt. Take these local amenities into account when planning your accommodation and day trips, and check what is available locally before travelling. This makes it easier to plan where you would like to run errands, rather than automatically assuming you can do so within the municipality.

North Frisia as a Wider Regional Setting

North Frisia offers a wider regional setting: the region has 441 kilometres of coastline. The five North Frisian islands in Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea National Park include Sylt, Föhr and Amrum, among others. North Frisia also includes ten Halligen, distinctive landforms within the national park. The North Frisian Wadden Sea is also an official nature reserve and part of the national park.

Nature enthusiasts will find other specific places to visit in North Frisia. At Hauke-Haien-Koog, visitors can observe a rich variety of birdlife. The SchlĂĽttsiel Information Centre has a natural history exhibition and offers guided tours of the Wadden Sea and nature conservation almost every day. In suitable weather, the tour continues with a guided walk along the sea dike. Hallig SĂĽdfall may only be entered as part of a guided tour: on guided walks or with the Wadden Sea carriage drivers.

Cycling routes can also be compared by length: the Beltringharder Route is 27 kilometres long and starts in Lüttmoorsiel. The 35-kilometre Stollberg-Koog Tour starts in Reußenköge at the Amsinck House. The North Sea Cycle Route runs through North Frisia and is part of the “North Sea Cycle Route”; North Frisia can also be reached by bicycle via the international long-distance Grenzroute. One regional speciality of northern North Frisia is Pharisäer: hot coffee with a dash of rum and a topping of whipped cream. At eight kilometres shorter, the Beltringharder Route is the shorter of the two routes mentioned.
