Nasingen combines hiking trails in the surrounding area with a clearly located historic building in the village centre. The village lies in the Southern Eifel Nature Park; gentle hills and dense forests characterise the landscape around Nasingen. Numerous trails lead through the varied scenery of the Southern Eifel, while the Filial Church of St. Mary stands right beside the main road in the village centre. Two themes are therefore central when deciding whether Nasingen is right for you: the landscape and hiking, and the history of the Filial Church.

Hiking among hills and forests

There are numerous hiking trails through the varied landscape of the Southern Eifel in the area around Nasingen. The Muxerath Circular Trail offers a specific route: the circular walk is 15.7 kilometres long and associated with Nasingen. If you would like to include a route with a stated distance in your day’s plans, you can use these 15.7 kilometres as a guide. Route details may change, so check them before setting out.

The Filial Church of St. Mary and its history

The Filial Church of St. Mary stands in the village centre, immediately beside the main road. It is considered a post-Baroque hall church with a roof turret and dates from 1868. The building was erected in 1868 by Johann Mayers and Katharina Munkler from Nasingen in honour of the Virgin Mary. The altar of Our Lady also connects Nasingen with Neuerburg: it came from the parish church there. The sculptor Eberhard Hennes of Neuerburg originally created it in 1761/1762. Two distinct periods thus meet in the Filial Church: the altar is more than a century older than the building.

Another historical connection leads to Koxhausen: in the past, a procession travelled from there to Nasingen along the Mass Path every Saturday in May.

Holiday home and village character

The Altes Backhaus holiday home is in Nasingen and forms part of a protected Eifel-style farm complex dating from 1850. It offers bicycle storage; as amenities may change, it is best to confirm this option before booking. Alongside the landscape and village church, a specifically named historic farm complex is therefore also part of the Nasingen experience.
