If you are looking for a holiday apartment in Biebertal, you can tailor your stay to your interests: scenery and hiking, a themed trail or local history. The six districts, the Celtic hike and several museums offer a range of starting points. Their specific focuses make it easy to decide which ones are of particular interest to you.

Scenery around Dünsberg

Biebertal’s six districts lie around the 500-metre-high Dünsberg. The landscape of the Gladenbach Uplands is characterised by hills, meadow valleys, and mixed beech and oak forests. The scenery therefore includes both heights and valleys, as well as mixed forests. Dünsberg is a clearly defined landmark, but the description of the districts encompasses more than just the hill.

Hiking trails with different focuses

The Celtic Hike is a circular trail with 25 stops exploring the Celtic period. QR-code videos add to the experience. The stops and digital content give the route a clear thematic focus. If you are looking for a hike whose description explicitly explores the Celtic period, this is the route to consider.

The Celtic and Roman Trail is a Lahn Facet, and therefore a short tour on the Lahn Hiking Trail. The two routes differ in how they are described: the Celtic Hike focuses on its circular route, stops and Celtic theme, while the Celtic and Roman Trail is presented as a short tour on the Lahn Hiking Trail. This lets you distinguish the routes by their respective thematic or route-based focus.

Celtic farmstead, castle and museum sites

The Celtic farmstead was built in 2005/2006 directly behind the Celtic Gate. The topography is part of the description of Vetzberg Castle: it stands on the summit of the extinct volcano of the same name, Vetzberg. Biebertal thus offers two distinct location references: the precise position of the Celtic farmstead behind the Celtic Gate and the castle’s hilltop setting.

The museums also have different focuses. Since 1973, the Hof Haina Farmhouse Museum has been located on the highest of the five farms. In 2011, the bakehouse was incorporated into the museum operations of the Rodheim-Bieber Local History Museum. The Frankenbach Local History Museum presents documents and objects from the village’s former agricultural and commercial working life. If you are choosing based on your interests, Hof Haina is distinguished by its location, Rodheim-Bieber by the bakehouse’s place in the museum, and Frankenbach by its focus on the working life of the past.
