Valmorel combines a car-free main street with leisure activities for a range of interests. For your stay, you can first consider whether you want to explore the town center, use practice areas for beginner skiers or focus on other activities. The options vary in format and target audience—from ski practice areas to animal encounters and mountain bike routes.

Rue du Bourg and local history

Rue du Bourg is the car-free main street around which Valmorel was built. Shops line the street, with elaborately designed, colorful façades and signs. Valmorel was founded in 1976. If you want to include the townscape in your stay alongside leisure activities, Rue du Bourg offers a specific focal point for a stroll. Here, the street layout and decorated shopfronts take center stage, while you can choose other activities based on what each one offers.

Practice areas, trails and snow tubing

At the Domaine Skiable de Valmorel, there are four specially designed, safe, progressive practice areas for beginner skiers and families. The number and layout of the areas make this offer different in character from a single trail. Chemin Pirates is an easy trail at the top station of the Pierrafort gondola, designed specifically for children, parents and beginner skiers. If you are weighing up the two formats, you can choose between practice areas on the one hand and a named easy trail on the other.

Snow tubing adds rides on specially prepared tracks to the selection: participants ride in large tubes. The Beaudin conveyor belt takes them back to the top effortlessly for repeated rides. The activity is available in summer and year-round; check the seasonal operating conditions in advance for your travel dates.

Other leisure activities and age ranges

Valmo'Branch in Valmorel offers five adventure courses for people aged 3 to 77, ten zip lines, two Tarzan swings and a via ferrata option at heights of 1 to 12 meters. There is also a treasure hunt for children aged 3 to 12. The age ranges refer to different activities: the 3-to-77 age range applies to the courses, while the treasure hunt has its own age group.

At the Valmo'Bourricot mini-farm, you can meet chickens, geese, ducks, rabbits, goats and sheep and learn more about their way of life in the mountain environment. Visitors can also watch a jenny being milked and learn about the properties of donkey’s milk. Okapi Leisure Park adds trampolines, inflatables and Accro Benji to the selection. Three attractions there are reserved for children under six. Check the operating conditions and visiting dates for these seasonal leisure activities before your trip.

Mountain bike routes compared by area
