From a 1.6-kilometre loop to the twelve-kilometre Circuit with two loops, Sainte-Luce-Sur-Loire offers routes of varying lengths. Loire wetlands, a protected island, historic buildings and a Saturday market provide different focal points for your stay.

Choose trails by length and route

The Parcours santé is 1.6 kilometres long and includes nine exercise stations. The GR3 runs for four kilometres along the Loire-à-Vélo route through Sainte-Luce-sur-Loire, from the Seil stream to the Guette-Loup stream. The Boucle de la biodiversité is a six-kilometre circular route. It starts at the plan d’eau du Plessis on Chemin des Claudix and passes through the Loire wetlands. The Circuit de l’île Clémentine offers a total of twelve kilometres of trails across two loops of four and eight kilometres.

When choosing, it is not just the distance that matters, but also the type of route. The Boucle de la biodiversité and the Parcours santé are circular routes; for the GR3, the section from the Seil stream to the Guette-Loup stream is specified. The Circuit de l’île Clémentine offers two loops of different lengths. This makes it possible to decide in advance whether a loop, a section between the two specified points or one of the two loops best suits your plans.

Nature and leisure along the Loire

Île Clémentine is designated a Natura 2000 site because of the rarity and sensitivity of its natural environment. The Jardins Chapeau offer a different focus: this 3,200 m² leisure area has views of the Loire. It has four picnic tables, a bicycle repair station and bicycle racks. The tables and repair station are practical features for a break outdoors.

Heritage and history

Château de Chassay has been listed as a historic monument since summer 2024. The Massonnerie Tower dates from the 17th century and once served as the staircase of the presbytery. The town had the tower restored at the end of 2019. Its former function and subsequent restoration provide two distinct historical points of interest.

Those interested in discovering local heritage can include the Parcours patrimoine in their plans. It covers eight sites with educational information panels. This means that, alongside the individual historic buildings, there is also a trail with several stops.

Visit the market on Saturday

The Marché du centre-ville takes place on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Place du Général de Gaulle. More than 65 vendors sell food and non-food goods, including clothing, shoes, linens and plants. The range of goods may change. The market adds a set time for a visit to the town centre to the nature and cultural attractions.
