Domazan offers several distinct themes for a trip of discovery: a puzzle trail through the village, remarkable architecture, cycling history and wine. You can choose your focus based on whether you’d like to get to know the place through games, explore architectural styles or learn about cycling and wine culture. The experiences offer different highlights: some lead you through puzzles, while others draw attention to architectural details or combine a vineyard walk with a tasting.

Discover Domazan through games

The Baludik route offers a fun way to discover the village of Domazan, with numerous puzzles along the way. It starts at the stadium car park on Chemin de la Grand Fond. As route details and the starting point may change, check this information before setting out. The specific starting point helps you find your way, while the puzzles are what make this experience distinctive. If you enjoy getting to know a place through challenges and discoveries, the route offers a different focus from Domazan’s architectural and historical themes.

Architecture and cycling history

The Chapel of Notre-Dame de la Rouvière has a remarkable four-sided, sloping vault in the Gothic pointed-arch style, dating from the 16th century. For an architectural perspective, both its unusual form and its date are significant. The Maison Jeanne d’Arc offers a different highlight: its striking façade combines several architectural styles. The reused sculptures on the façade probably date from the Renaissance. Together, the two buildings offer different points of interest in architectural history: a dated vault on one hand, and a stylistically varied façade with sculptures probably dating from the Renaissance on the other.

The Musée du Vélo at Château de Bosc tells the story of the bicycle. This adds a clearly defined cultural and historical focus, distinct from the architectural styles of the chapel and the Maison Jeanne d’Arc. If you’re interested in the history of the bicycle, you’ll find a dedicated theme here. Wines in three colors are also available for tasting in the cellar at Château de Bosc. As tasting arrangements and opening details may change, check the current terms if you plan to take part in a tasting.

Vineyards, wine cellars and tastings

Domaine de la Valériane offers a walk through the vineyards followed by a wine tasting and local products. Cellar tours are also available. The vines grow in a valley on gently sloping hillsides, so the landscape and the wines are two distinct aspects of the same estate. Wines are also available for tasting at Domaine des Romarins, a family-run estate in the heart of the village of Domazan. The experiences differ in the features mentioned: at Valériane, they include a vineyard walk and the wine cellar, while Romarins is highlighted for its village location and its character as a family-run estate. Visits and tasting arrangements may change; check the details in advance.
