Historic buildings, arts and crafts, and nature offer different ways to experience Pont-Scorff. When planning your stay, you can decide whether you would rather explore art and architectural history, set aside time for a circular walking route, or learn about river nature and species conservation.

Arts and crafts in the village and contemporary art

The Cour des Métiers d’Art invites visitors year-round to admire creations by around 100 selected craftspeople from across France. The selection of participants may change. This is separate from the number of craftspeople based in the commune, which is around 25.

The workshop shops are also part of the village’s arts and crafts scene. They are spread throughout the village and can be explored within a 300-metre radius. Individual locations may change; if you have particular workshops in mind, it is best to check in advance which ones are currently open.

The Atelier d’Estienne, a contemporary art centre managed by the cultural department of the town of Pont-Scorff, offers a different way to experience art. It focuses on painting, sculpture, video, photography and installations. This lets you combine the village’s arts and crafts with a look at various fields of contemporary art.

Architectural history with two points of reference

The Maison des Princes dates from the early 16th century and has been classified as a historic monument since 1932. In Lesbin, the Chapelle Saint-Aubin retains its choir and transept from the first half of the 14th century. The two historic buildings therefore offer different points of reference: the chapel’s sections date back further, while the Maison des Princes marks a later chapter in the village’s history.

If you are interested in historic architecture, these dates offer concrete points to guide your choices. The Atelier d’Estienne adds a contemporary focus. The different themes can help you shape your visit around your personal interests without treating arts and crafts, architectural history and contemporary art as a single offering.

River nature and species conservation

The fish migration monitoring station at Moulin des Princes is open to the public. It mainly catches salmon, trout, eels, shad and lampreys. The list of species gives a clear sense of the focus on fish migration, offering a different perspective on Pont-Scorff from its architecture and arts themes.

Another way to explore nature is the large-scale treasure hunt along the banks of the Scave and the Scorff. It leads visitors to discover wetlands and their biodiversity. As access arrangements may change, check the current conditions before taking part. Les Terres de Nataé offers a different focus: the animal park is dedicated to the conservation of the most endangered species. The visitor experience combines species conservation and animal welfare with learning about ecological challenges.

Set aside time for a walk

The Circuit de St Urchaut circular walking route is 13 kilometres long and takes about 3 hours and 30 minutes. This approximate time estimate helps you plan the route as a separate activity for the day. Arts and crafts, historic buildings, the animal park and the treasure hunt offer different themes to explore. You can choose what to include in your stay based on the interests that matter most to you.
