Discover Berric through a range of themes: architectural history, a market of local producers, a route for three modes of transport, or fishing at the Étang. Named cultural sites include two chapels with distinct architectural features, the Église Saint-Thuriau in the village centre, and the Château de Trémohar. Berric is also a member of the Parc Naturel Régional du Golfe du Morbihan. When planning your stay, consider which of these themes you would most like to focus on.

Chapels, Church and Château

The Chapelle Notre-Dame-des-Vertus dates from the 15th century and is classified as a Monument historique. It was classified by a decree dated 25 July 1930. Pointed-arch windows with flame-like tracery give the chapel distinctive architectural features: alongside the age of the building, the shape of the windows and their ornamental detailing also draw the eye.

The Chapelle Notre-Dame de Bon-Secours in the hamlet of Kercohan has different features. It is a rectangular stone building dating from the 16th century, with a three-sided apse; it also has 16th-century wall paintings. Here, the building’s structure, apse and paintings can be considered as distinct aspects of its architecture and design. The Église Saint-Thuriau stands in the centre of the village of Berric. The Château de Trémohar is listed as a Monument historique. Together, these sites offer different starting points for a cultural focus: chapel architecture, a church in the village centre and a château with listed status.

Route and Fishing Spot

The Boucle des Vertus is a route that can be explored on foot, by bicycle or on horseback. This gives you three different ways to get around. The Étang de Berric, meanwhile, offers a peaceful, green setting for fishing. The route and the pond appeal to different interests: one is an outing along a route, the other a chance to fish at a body of water. Local fishing regulations may change; check them before fishing.

Berric is a member of the Parc Naturel Régional du Golfe du Morbihan. This regional affiliation adds another aspect to consider when choosing the destination, alongside local cultural and leisure interests.

Friday Market of Local Producers

Le P’tit marché takes place on Fridays from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the church square in Berric. The local producers’ market offers eggs, vegetables, meat, fish, shellfish, crustaceans, cheese, dairy products, organic sourdough bread, fruit, honey and Breton cakes. If you would like to include the market in your stay, the day of the week and time slot are useful points to consider when planning. The selection may change in response to local demand.

Choose the Focus of Your Stay

When looking for a hotel in Berric, you can start with the reason for your stay. If architectural history and monuments are your priority, the chapels, church and château offer different themes. If you want to plan around a specific event, the Friday market gives you a clear time reference. For outdoor interests, consider the Boucle des Vertus and its three ways to explore, or fishing at the Étang. This lets you tailor the focus of your stay to your interests.
