Laàs combines an outdoor puzzle experience with a historic collection, a self-guided walking route and distinctive cultural sites. The experiences vary in subject and time required: puzzles, works of art, historical information along the way or local cultural heritage.
Outdoor puzzles and navigation
The Parcours-jeux at Château des Énigmes is an immersive outdoor experience: a large-scale treasure hunt combines puzzles with exploring a 12-hectare natural area. The activities include a zip line, nets in the trees and a bamboo maze. At around three hours, the trail takes longer than the one-hour historic audio trail; this is a specific difference to bear in mind when planning your day.
The trail is completed independently. Information panels and Pass-Énigmes materials guide the puzzle experience; the languages listed are French, English and Spanish. As materials and languages may change, check this offering before your trip.
Collection and historic walking route
The Musée Serbat recreates an 18th-century aristocratic residence and presents a collection of furniture and works of art assembled by Louis and Madeleine Serbat. The reconstructed living quarters and the collection are therefore both central to the museum; the collection is specifically associated with Louis and Madeleine Serbat.
The free Parcours audio de Laàs takes one hour and offers a self-guided historical exploration. Each stop with commentary has audio or text information. This sets it apart from the Musée Serbat: on the trail, historical information accompanies a walk, while the museum focuses on the recreation of the residence and its collection. You can therefore choose between a collection-focused experience and history along the way.
Chapelle Saint-Barthélemy: construction and later use
The Chapelle Saint-Barthélemy is a 12th-century Romanesque church on the Way of St James. The bell tower porch is protected by thick buttresses and is a distinctive architectural feature. For those interested in buildings, this glimpse of Romanesque architecture offers a different focus from the puzzle trail and collection.
The building’s use has also changed: the former Chapelle Saint-Barthélemy was converted into the cultural and event venue cabaret de la fourmi rouge. If you are visiting for an event, check the current programme, as event schedules may change.
A local Walk of Fame
The Làas Vegas Boulevard is a local Walk of Fame, with 33 stars dedicated to singers and notable figures. The stars were installed in 2016 to mark the 20th anniversary of the Transhumances music festival. This tribute to music and notable figures adds a distinct cultural dimension to the site’s architectural and collection history.
