Happy’Forest in Pont-Du-Casse has 14 treetop courses with 200 games. It also offers an outdoor laser game in a century-old oak forest and an animal park with marmots, macaws, fallow deer and farm animals. This brings together courses, games and an animal park. Check current opening arrangements and the layout before your visit; the range of animals may also change.

Orienteering and a botanical garden in Darel

The Darel orienteering site offers four courses at four levels of difficulty. The activity is permanent and open to everyone. The four difficulty levels can help you choose a course. Check the course routes and local conditions before your visit.

The Darel botanical garden is a floristic reserve for species from the region. It features the Agen tulip and numerous labelled plants, including several local orchids. The selection of plants gives the garden a distinct botanical profile: the Agen tulip is one named example, while the labelled plants also include various regional species. Those especially interested in plants will find a different focus here than at the courses and animal park.

Hiking between a circular route and rolling hills

The 9 km Pont-Du-Casse/Darel nature loop starts in Pont-Du-Casse. It is marked with painted trail markers and offers opportunities for relaxation and outdoor recreation. Check the markers locally before setting out. The Oak Loop runs through the first foothills of the Pays de Serres and has some steeper climbs.

A long hike from Pont-Du-Casse through the hills of the Pays de Serres passes through a landscape with pronounced relief. Along the way, you can see large farms, distinctive houses, dovecotes, orchards and traditionally cultivated fields. When choosing between the routes, you can consider their different features: the nature loop’s marked 9 km, the steeper climbs of the Oak Loop, or the long hike through the hilly landscape and its rural buildings and land uses.

Sainte-Foy-de-Jérusalem: architecture and history

The former church of Sainte-Foy-de-Jérusalem in Pont-Du-Casse has been listed as a historic monument since 5 June 1973. Its architectural features include a south side chapel and a bell gable that extends the west façade. The building can also be appreciated through these specific architectural elements.

The church’s history is linked to the Order of the Hospitallers, also known as the Knights of Malta: they took it over after 1313 and remained its owners until it was converted into a parish church. This timeline adds an account of its former use to the architectural perspective, without implying that historic status means it is open to visitors today.
