Trenckova rokle is a rocky gorge in the Bobrůvka valley, between Skryje and Strážek and near Drahonín. A stream flowing from Drahonín forms cascades and waterfalls there; the highest waterfall is four metres high. The gorge also has a small waterfall whose flow is seasonal. Nature here is defined above all by rock, water, and protected habitats.

Rocky Gorge and Protected Habitats

Trenckova rokle is a natural monument and a site of European importance. Protected features include crevice vegetation on silicate rocks, scree slopes and mobile scree, as well as preserved remnants of dry, acidophilous oak forests and ravine forests. These features make the landscape more than just a single viewpoint: the rocks, scree, and forest remnants together form part of its protected character.

Route Along the River and Paddling on the Loučka

A route from Tišnovská Nová Ves to Tišnov follows the Bobrůvka and passes through the settlement of Boudy. Both endpoints and the route via Boudy are specified for planning; conditions along the way may vary. The route is an alternative to paddling.

The Loučka (Bobrůvka) paddling section below Boudy is rated WW I–II. It is navigable in spring and after rain; navigability also depends on water levels and seasonal conditions. The section below Boudy includes a weir with boulders and a footbridge made of two steel cables leading to the settlement of Okawango City. The lower cable is difficult to see. As river and footbridge conditions can change, check them on site. The practical difference when choosing between the route and the paddling trip is that water levels are explicitly a planning factor for the paddling section.

Historical Traces: Boudy, Hrádek, and Rysov

Boudy was first mentioned in 1632 under its former name, Hvížďov; at the time, it had three buildings. The Chapel of Saints Cyril and Methodius stands on the site of the medieval fortification of Hrádek. A ditch and part of the rampart have survived at Hrádek.

Another historical sight is the ruin of Rysov Castle, a protected cultural monument. It stands on a high promontory above the Bobrůvka, south of Skryje. The two sites differ in their particular features: at Hrádek, the chapel and surviving fortification remains are the main attractions, while at Rysov, it is the ruin on the promontory.

Getting There and Practical Information

IDS-JMK bus route 336 serves the Skryje, Boudy stop. If you plan to travel by bus, check the timetable before setting off. Refreshments are available at Šafránkův mlýn; check in advance whether they will be available during your visit.

The natural features also differ in their conditions: the small waterfall’s flow is seasonal, while the paddling section explicitly depends on water levels and the season. The route along the Bobrůvka is another option, and conditions along it may vary. You can plan according to whether you are more interested in a walking route, the waterside landscape, or historical traces, without assuming the same conditions for every activity.
