Olímpia offers several ways to plan your trip: a water park, wax figures, architectural history, and folklore. As you choose your priorities, you can distinguish between leisure attractions and cultural themes—and decide what you want to shape your stay.

Getting to Olímpia

Access to Olímpia is via the Rodovia Assis Chateaubriand (SP-425). The Rodovia Armando de Salles Oliveira (SP-322) also provides access to Olímpia. If you are planning to travel by road, check your route and road conditions before setting out. These two highways are specific reference points for your journey; take the conditions along the route into account on your travel day.

Water Park and Wax Figures

Hot Beach Parque Aquático offers more than 20 attractions for the whole family. The scale of the park makes it a distinct focus for planning your trip, rather than just a passing stop between other activities. The number of attractions may change, so use it as a guide and check the details before your visit.

Dreamland Museu de Cera offers a different kind of experience: it features more than 30 settings with 70 realistic likenesses of notable figures. The displays range from cinema, music, and sports to politics, science, and art. Here, the focus is not on the number of different attractions, but on the thematic variety of the figures represented. If you are considering which stops suit your interests, this range offers a concrete point of reference. The exhibits may also change, so check what is on display before your visit.

Railway Station History and Folklore

ECO – Estação Cultural de Olímpia is located in an architectural complex dating from the 1910s. The complex is protected as municipal historic heritage; original features of the former railway station have been preserved and restored. For travelers interested in architectural history, this provides a specific point of reference in both time and design: the period when the complex was built and the features of the former station that have been preserved.

The history of the Festival do Folclore de Olímpia also has a clear timeline. The first festival took place in 1965; the title “Capital do Folclore” was awarded later. This title was awarded under Federal Law No. 13.566/2017. The festival’s beginning and the legal award are two different dates: 1965 marks the first edition, while 2017 marks the awarding of the title. This distinction helps separate the origins of the cultural designation from its later legal recognition.

The Museu do Folclore includes an area dedicated to “cozinha afetiva” as well as local handicrafts. This focus complements ECO’s architectural history with folklore themes. The two places emphasize different things: ECO centers on the former railway station complex and its preserved and restored features, while the Museu do Folclore includes “cozinha afetiva” and local handicrafts. This lets you choose cultural experiences by subject matter rather than treating them as the same.
