Spielberg combines a strong focus on motorsport with a range of leisure activities. Top-level motorsport events take place at the Red Bull Ring; visitors can also tour parts of the complex and enjoy various driving experiences. Other attractions include virtual reality, an indoor family amusement park and indoor karting. The range of activities thus extends from motorsport to various indoor pursuits.
Motorsport at the Red Bull Ring
The Red Bull Ring in Spielberg hosts top-level motorsport events. The Red Bull Ring Tour takes visitors to places including Race Control, the Media Center and the VIP lounges. Visitors can enjoy driving experiences at the Driving Center, on the race track itself or off the track in the off-road area. The options therefore differ in whether you visit parts of the complex or drive yourself. The circuit is located in the green Aichfeld valley and surrounded by the Murtal mountains, so the motorsport venue can also be understood in terms of its landscape setting.
The three Red Bull Ring experiences appeal to different interests: motorsport events put the event itself in the spotlight, the tour takes you to parts of the complex, and the driving experiences are about driving. To decide which is right for you, first consider whether the event date, a visit to parts of the circuit or the driving activity itself is your priority.
The gates of the Red Bull Ring are open to visitors all year round. Visitor parking is free in the designated and signposted areas. Visitor and activity information may change; check the latest information before your visit, and check the relevant dates for events.
Indoor activities: virtual reality and karting
Playworld Spielberg is an indoor amusement park for families, with a Kids Area, a Jump Area and a Laser Area. At Playworld, Zero Latency Spielberg offers free-roam virtual reality gaming across more than 170 m² for up to eight players at a time. Virtual Reality Cafe Spielberg offers a range of VR escape rooms and arcade VR games. The two VR options therefore differ in what they offer: Zero Latency stands out for its space and maximum number of simultaneous players, while the cafe offers a choice of game formats. Group size and preferred format are two practical factors to consider when making your choice.
Indoorkart Spielberg offers weather-independent driving fun across around 3,000 m². Unlike the virtual experiences, karting is the main attraction here; compared with the driving experiences at the Red Bull Ring, it is a separate indoor activity. This means you can include karting in your visit whatever the weather.
Spielberg Castle and protected buildings
Spielberg Castle gave the present-day town of Spielberg its name and is a listed monument. The register entry for its protected status is dated 30 June 2025. The Catholic parish church of St. Martin in Lind and the St. Michael's Chapel in Lind are also listed monuments; the respective register entries are likewise dated 30 June 2025. For visitors interested in architectural heritage as well as motorsport and leisure activities, the castle, church and chapel are tangible cultural landmarks.
