At Klippitztörl, you can choose between hikes with opportunities to spot wildlife, the summer toboggan run and climbing activities, as well as skiing in winter. The ÖBB Experience Ticket offers a specific combination of transport and activities. To help you decide, it is worth noting the differences: at Hohenwart, a chairlift ride is followed by the summer toboggan run; hiking focuses on signposted routes and named wildlife-watching locations. In winter, the ski area is defined by runs of varying difficulty levels.

Summer Toboggan Run and Climbing Activities

A chairlift takes visitors to the summit of Hohenwart at an altitude of 1,818 m; the summer toboggan run then descends from there. The track is 1,400 metres long and covers 260 metres of elevation. This gives you a clear sequence for your plans: a ride to the summit followed by the toboggan run. The adventure climbing park was built on natural terrain near the summer toboggan run. It is intended for families on holiday, day visitors, schools, groups and seminars.

The Kiddy Park has a minimum height requirement of 120 cm; children may use it only when accompanied by an adult. The park features include tree elements, suspension bridges and flying foxes. When choosing this activity, check that the minimum height and supervision requirements are suitable for the children travelling with you.

Hiking and Wildlife Watching

Klippitztörl has an extensive, well-signposted network of hiking trails. The routes are GPS-recorded and described in detail; they can be printed out, including with a tour map. The signs help you find your way around the trail network, while GPS records, descriptions and printouts are useful for planning. With such a wide selection, you can consult the detailed route descriptions rather than deciding solely on the term “leisurely hike.” Numerous leisurely hikes run in and around the Klippitztörl hiking paradise.

While hiking, you can spot chamois on Forstalpe, marmots on Geierkogel and numerous birds. The two named locations offer different wildlife-watching opportunities: Forstalpe is associated with chamois, and Geierkogel with marmots. If you are interested in wildlife watching, you can take these links between locations and animals into account when choosing a hiking theme.

Winter Activities

For the 2025/2026 winter season, the winter brochure listed six modern lifts and 13 runs of all difficulty levels. These figures may change if the lift or piste layout is revised. The number of lifts and the number of runs describe different aspects; the difficulty levels refer to the runs.

Snowshoes can be rented from Klippitztörl Touristik at the main ticket office by the Hochegger lift for €12.00 per day. The daily rate provides a rental period to use when planning. Check rental availability and the price before your trip.

Getting There and Combined Offer

The ÖBB Experience Ticket combines train travel, a lift ride and tobogganing and/or the climbing park at a discounted combined price. When planning this combination of activities, it is important to check exactly what the ticket includes: the options for tobogganing and/or the climbing park may vary. The offer may change, so check which components are available before your trip.
