The Complejo AstronĂłmico de Almirante Brown offers a practical starting point for planning your trip: admission is free Tuesday through Sunday, from 09:00 to 17:00. At the same time, Almirante Brown Partido has more to offer than astronomy: historic buildings, local collections, painting, and rural walks each provide a different focus.

Explore the astronomy complex independently

The walk begins at the amphitheater, passes the planets of the solar system, and continues along numbered paths. Information panels and audio options support independent exploration. The visit thus leads from the shared starting point at the amphitheater to other stops where you can explore the information on your own. The opening hours provide a clear time frame for your visit; the walk itself is designed for exploring without a guide.

Cultural history in Adrogué

Casa Borges in Adrogué connects the writer’s life story with the later promotion of his culture: the house was Jorge Luis Borges’ summer residence and today serves as a place for studying and promoting his work. The current program may change. Those interested in Borges will find here both a biographical connection and an institutional focus on his literature.

Castillo Castelforte in Adrogué also has a clearly documented history. It began in 1874 as the private home of engineer José Canale and was known as Villa Castelforte. It underwent extensive restoration in 1983; the Castillo now serves as a museum. Some surviving sections of the tunnels can be visited as part of guided tours. If this visit is important to your plans, check the current schedule.

La Cucaracha is associated with a different historical sequence: the building first served as Almirante Brown’s first municipal administration, then as a police station and a court of peace. The Museo y Archivo Histórico Municipal in Adrogué focuses on everyday objects from the Partido. The collection includes doors, a clock, and decorative remains from Templo San Gabriel, as well as photographs and tableware from Hotel La Delicia. Together, these objects offer a glimpse into different aspects of local history, not just individual institutions.

Painting and ceramics in Glew

Glew is home to two distinct artistic highlights. Iglesia Santa Ana contains frescoes painted by RaĂşl Soldi over 23 summers. The collection at Museo Cosimo Manigrasso includes more than 1,000 oil paintings and ceramic vessels. The museum is the only place in Latin America where visitors can find Tuscan ceramics, including replicas of classical motifs from Greek and Roman mythology. The comparison is especially interesting if you are choosing between church wall paintings and a collection of paintings and ceramics.

Rural walks in Ministro Rivadavia

A tourism initiative in Ministro Rivadavia reported in 2025 is a series of rural walks developed together with the local sector. This adds a rural focus to the historical and artistic themes. If you want to plan one of these walks in advance, check the current schedule. This lets you factor in the difference between a visit with set opening hours, a guided tour, and a rural walk when planning your own trip.

To choose a destination, you can start with the themes: astronomy with a self-guided walk, cultural history and literature in Adrogué, art collections in Glew, or rural walks in Ministro Rivadavia. You can then match your search for a vacation rental to the focus of your stay.
