Cửa Lò combines a long stretch of coastline with an island connection, rides and a well-developed fishing culture. The beach is over ten kilometers long; its shore slopes gently, the sand is fine and white, and the water is clear and clean. Visitors can stroll along the shore and experience the waves. This makes the beach a distinctive point of reference for anyone considering Cửa Lò as a seaside destination.
Beach and island connection
VinWonders Cửa Hội is on Bình Minh Street, right on Cửa Lò Beach. A 3.5-kilometer cable car runs over the sea directly to Song Ngư Island. During the ride, you can enjoy panoramic views of the sea at Cửa Lò; the stated capacity is 1,500 people per hour. A beach walk and a cable car ride offer different highlights: one focuses on the coastal stretch, the other on the crossing to an island destination with sea views.
Rides and fairground theme
The Cửa Hội water park features the 306-meter-long “Cuồng Phong Bão Tố” water slide. According to the operators, it has a maximum gradient of 30 degrees and reaches speeds of up to 12.5 meters per second. VinWonders Cửa Hội also describes a 900-meter-long slide that runs along the mountain and heads toward the sea; its course includes three sharp curves and two rapid turns. The technical information about the rides is from December 2025; their design or availability may change. Check the latest attraction information before your visit.
The Hội chợ Phù Hoa park at VinWonders Cửa Hội offers a different theme. It recreates a European medieval fairground and includes 68 gaming and entertainment areas. When considering things to do in Cửa Lò, you can distinguish between specific ride features and an immersive fairground setting, without reducing them to the same kind of experience.
Coast, blossoms and culture
Chùa Song Ngư in Nghi Thủy Ward is an important spiritual and cultural site for the fishing communities of the Đan Nhai–Cửa Lò coastal region, as well as a spiritual destination for visitors. Nearby, on Ngư Island, is a pagoda built in the 13th century under the Trần dynasty; the site includes the pagoda and a pagoda garden. The Lan Châu Peninsula is also nearby, north of Cửa Lò Beach. Its original, striking rocky shores offer a different coastal landscape from the long sandy beach. Emperor Bảo Đại had a palace built on Lan Châu in 1936 as a retreat.
A seasonal natural feature is the beach aster, which grows on sand. It is considered a tourist symbol of Cửa Lò and usually blooms from April to July. Visitors use the flower fields for photography. If this landscape is especially important to you, you can take the usual blooming period into account when choosing when to travel; this describes the typical period, not an exact bloom date.
Fishing culture at the basket-boat market
A report from May 2026 describes a morning basket-boat market near the Lan Châu Peninsula. The seafood comes from fishing grounds close to shore and is brought in on small basket boats. Fishing families sell their catch directly, without wholesalers or intermediaries. The report also mentions visitors who gut fish, pull boats and select seafood. The market therefore offers not only a chance to shop but also insights into the catch and the families’ direct sales.
