A tea factory where you can observe traditional processing, from manual steps to the finished tea, offers a tangible insight into Lam Dong. The Lam Dong 1927 Tea Factory is located in Bảo Lộc and is one of the two oldest tea factories in Vietnam’s Central Highlands. Its appeal lies not only in the product: visitors can also follow the production process itself. If you are interested in tea, this visit combines a visible working process with the history of a long-established factory.

Langbiang: Plant Diversity and Gong Culture

In the northern part of Lam Dong lies the Langbiang Biosphere Reserve. It encompasses 1,940 plant species, 64 of which are listed in Vietnam’s Red Book. The reserve is also home to the Gong culture of Vietnam’s Central Highlands, which is inscribed on UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list. This combination makes Langbiang a place where botanical diversity and intangible cultural heritage can be appreciated as equally important themes. If you want to make room for both nature and culture on your trip, the area offers both in its own distinctive way.

Protected Areas and Forest Trekking

Cat Tien National Park is a tropical moist lowland nature reserve that includes areas in Lam Dong. At Bidoup Nui Ba National Park, you can trek through ancient evergreen forests. The park is home to about 1,933 animal and plant species, including species listed in Vietnam’s Red Book. This gives you different options for nature experiences: Cat Tien as a tropical moist lowland nature reserve, and Bidoup Nui Ba for trekking through ancient evergreen forests.

At Bidoup Nui Ba National Park, you can also experience K'Ho culture. This includes gong music, drums, grilled meat, and rice liquor. Music, food, and drink offer a distinct cultural focus alongside the forest and its biodiversity. The park thus combines two different interests, so you do not have to limit your travel plans to just one.

Phu Quy: Island Experiences and Getting There

On Phu Quy, activities on land and in the water take center stage: hikers can walk to viewpoints and explore coral reefs while snorkeling. To get there, first travel to Phan Thiet, then continue to the port and take a boat to the island. The crossing takes 2.5 to 3.5 hours, depending on the type of boat. Allow for this time and check the specific connection in advance. The several-hour crossing is therefore part of the decision to visit the island, as are the opportunities for hiking and snorkeling. On Phu Quy, freshly caught fish and seafood are also served on fishing rafts.

Mui Ne: Seafood and Suoi Tien

Mui Ne offers two different interests to choose from. Along the coast, there are numerous barbecue restaurants serving fresh seafood. Suoi Tien is a shallow stream, with impressive limestone and red clay formations on one side and lush greenery on the other. Visitors can walk barefoot upstream. Here, the focus shifts from food to the stream, rock, clay, and greenery—a distinctive nature experience within Mui Ne.
