Hồ Lắk is located in the center of Liên Sơn. As a natural freshwater lake covering more than 600 hectares, it is a defining feature of the landscape for a stay in the city. You can focus your visit on the lake or combine it with walks, boat trips, and local food and cultural experiences. This lets you combine different focuses for your visit.
Routes and Walks
From the center of Liên Sơn, a route runs around the foot of the hill at Biệt điện Bảo Đại. It follows Hồ Xuân Hương and Âu Cơ streets along Hồ Lắk and splits into two paths: one leads up the hill, while the other goes via Buôn Lê and Buôn Jun. The route is more than three kilometers long. At the fork, the destinations differ clearly: the hill in one direction, and the two Buôn in the other.
A lakeside route around the hill at Biệt điện Bảo Đại gives visitors a place to walk and take in Hồ Lắk. Benches along the route give walkers and visitors a chance to rest and look out at the lake. For planning purposes, the destinations are what set the routes apart: the lakeside path combines movement by the water with a place to rest, while the other route leads up the hill or via Buôn Lê and Buôn Jun.
At Hồ Lắk: On the Water and at the Table
Trips on Hồ Lắk are offered in dugout canoes, motorboats, and speedboats. If you want to include an activity on the water in your day, you can consider these three boat types as different options. If you want a boat trip to be a set part of your itinerary, check availability in advance for the day of your visit.
The visitor experience at Hồ Lắk also includes sampling traditional dishes such as cơm lam, canh cà đắng, chả cá thác lác, cá bống, and canh thụt. In the M’nông Rlăm longhouses, visitors can drink rượu cần, a traditional rice wine. This offers culinary tastings alongside an experience specifically associated with the longhouses. If you want to plan these in particular, check in advance what will be available on the day of your visit.
Buôn Jun and Finding Hotels
Buôn Jun is a destination along the branch of the route via Buôn Lê and was officially designated a community-based tourism destination in Liên Sơn in December 2024. Two points of reference come together when planning a visit here: the route from the city center and the area's status as a tourist destination. This means you can consider Buôn Jun both as a destination along the route and as a focus of its own for your visit.
Then search for hotels for your travel dates and choose according to your personal requirements.
