Sea lions live at the end of the Salishan Spit; the spit is four miles long and can be reached along the rest of the beach. It is located near Gleneden Beach State Recreation Site. A day-use parking fee or day-use parking pass has been required at Gleneden Beach State Recreation Site since March 30, 2026. Check the current park requirements before visiting.

Coast and Trail Distances

At Salishan, the nature trail is one mile long and leads from the Salishan Marketplace parking lot to the sandy beach at Salishan Spit. The distance figures answer different questions: one mile refers to the trail to the beach, while four miles is the length of the spit. This makes it possible to distinguish the route from the parking lot to the beach from the length of the spit. Trail conditions and access rules can change, so check current conditions before setting out.

Golf and Aerial Park at Salishan

Salishan Golf Links is an 18-hole championship course. Trees and coastal vegetation around the playing areas are left as natural as possible. The number of holes and the landscape description offer two different points of reference: the sporting setting and the course’s surroundings.

A description of the Salishan Coastal Lodge Aerial Park, updated in 2021, lists a self-guided aerial obstacle course with 15 platforms and 21 challenge elements. These activity details may change; check the latest information before visiting.

Public Events and Local Food and Drink

The Gleneden Beach Community Club hosts a public pancake breakfast on the first Sunday of every month except January. If your stay includes a Sunday, this schedule may be useful when planning your day; check the event calendar before visiting.

The Gleneden Beach Fourth of July Parade began in 1995. A 2027 parade featuring live music, local food and crafts, and a Star-Spangled beer garden has been announced. 1995 marks its historical beginning, while 2027 refers to the announced program. As the program may change, check the latest event information before your trip. The Salishan Gallery showcases artists from Oregon. This adds a cultural dimension to the landscape and activity offerings. The spit and nature trail represent the coastal landscape, while Golf Links and the Aerial Park offer sports and recreation; the gallery provides an artistic counterpoint for art lovers.

Visitors can get a craft beverage at Beachcrest Brewing in the Salishan Marketplace; check whether it is currently open before visiting. The Attic @ Salishan offers a farm-to-fork experience focused on sustainably sourced ingredients. Here, too, it is advisable to check whether it is currently open before visiting. The two offerings provide different culinary experiences: craft beverages at Beachcrest Brewing and sustainably sourced ingredients in the farm-to-fork experience.
