During a stay in Spring Lake, you can focus on different aspects of the area, from the coast and park lake to local history. The boardwalk runs along the sandy beach, while the man-made lake is completely surrounded by parkland. Holy Trinity Episcopal Church and the shopping district also offer specific points of interest for your visit.

Boardwalk and seasonal provisions

The noncommercial boardwalk runs for two miles along a sandy beach. Certain beach items and badges are also issued at two pavilions. At the North End Pavilion, between Tuttle and Ludlow Avenues, lockers and beach boxes are available. At the South End Pavilion, between Salem and Atlantic Avenues, seasonal beach badges and individual pool/beach badges without a locker are issued.

Starting May 18, items are issued daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Seasonal arrangements may change, so check the latest information before your visit. For travel planning, the boardwalk and sandy beach are a shared coastal focus; the pavilions provide specific points of contact for the items mentioned.

Spring Lake and its parkland

Spring Lake, also called Divine Park Lake, is a 16-acre man-made lake completely surrounded by parkland. It is often used for fishing. Unlike the beach and boardwalk, the focus here is a body of water amid parkland. If fishing is of interest to you, the lake’s frequent use for this purpose is a specific point to consider when choosing activities.

Church and local history

Holy Trinity Episcopal Church is described as the oldest church in Spring Lake, New Jersey. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 8, 1991, and features Gothic Revival and Stick Style influences. Both its historical designation and the architectural styles mentioned are cultural aspects of the area.

Spring Lake’s history of development is also tied to its identity as a seaside resort: the town eventually developed into an upscale seaside resort. This local history adds a historical dimension to the coastal experience, without requiring a set itinerary.

Museum and visiting hours

The Spring Lake Historical Society Museum is open in spring, summer and fall. Regular opening hours are Thursdays from 10 a.m. to noon; visits are also available by appointment. If you plan to visit the museum, you can go on a Thursday morning or make an appointment. Check the opening hours in advance, as seasonal details may change.

Shopping district and dining

Spring Lake’s shopping district has restaurants with outdoor seating and upscale dining options. Shopping options include fashion boutiques and unique galleries. The district offers a focus distinct from the beach and park lake: you can take your interest in dining, boutiques or galleries into account when planning, rather than focusing your stay solely on the coast.
