The beaches of Wildwood Crest are accessible at the end of every street. Surfing is permitted at three designated locations: Hollywood Avenue, Rambler Road, and Aster Road; at Hollywood Avenue, surfing is allowed only from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. For the 2026 season, lifeguard coverage was staggered: from the last weekend in May through mid-June, lifeguards were on duty on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as Memorial Day; from mid-June through Labor Day weekend, they were on duty daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. For another season, it is recommended that you check the current lifeguard hours in advance.

Cycling and Exercise

The Wildwood Crest Borough Bike Path runs along the beach from Rambler Road to Cresse Avenue, then continues along the Wildwoods Boardwalk to North Wildwood. The free Wildwoods bicycle route begins at Rambler Road and extends along almost the entire length of the five-mile island. The scope differs: the Borough Bike Path is described as a local section that continues to North Wildwood; the Wildwoods route runs along almost the entire island. The annual Mayor’s Wellness Walk, a family run, also takes place along the Wildwood Crest Bike Path.

Parks by Their Amenities

Scoop Taylor Park has a large playground; Sunrise Park at Rambler Road has a splash park. Washington Avenue Park has three free public tennis courts. Coleman-Callahan Memorial Park has a free fishing pier and a kayak launch. Centennial Park offers walking and running paths. These amenities are associated with specific parks, such as tennis at Washington Avenue Park and walking and running paths at Centennial Park. If a particular amenity is important for your visit, check its current status in advance.

Information, Nature, and History

The Crest Arts Pavilion is located at 6301 Ocean Avenue and serves as Wildwood Crest’s tourist information center. Bayview Memorial Park has information about the turtle migration in Wildwood Crest. When you visit Turtle Gut Inlet Park, you can learn the full history of the Nancy. Atlantic bottlenose dolphins are also frequently found in the waters off Wildwood Crest. This puts specific information about the turtle migration and the history of the Nancy alongside the presence of bottlenose dolphins as another perspective on nature.

Summer at Sunset Lake

The free weekly Summer Concert Series takes place in summer at the Gazebo at Sunset Lake. Arts and crafts markets are held at Sunset Lake throughout the summer. The concert series is weekly, while the markets run throughout the summer season; if either of these activities is important for your trip, check the dates in advance.
