Hollywood combines coastal paths, mangrove landscapes and a range of cultural offerings. The Atlantic promenade, a trail with named endpoints, galleries, live performances and a market each offer something different. When planning your trip, you can give coastal scenery, nature, art and events as much or as little emphasis as you like.

Coast: Promenade, Trail and Reef

The Hollywood Beach Broadwalk is an almost 2.5-mile-long promenade along the Atlantic Ocean. The Hollywood-Dania North Beach Trail runs from North Beach Park in Hollywood to Dania Beach Pier and measures 1.55 miles each way, or 3.1 miles round trip. The difference is not just the distance: the Broadwalk runs as a promenade along the Atlantic, while the trail connects two named endpoints. If you are considering the full trail distance, use the round-trip figure rather than only the one-way distance. This makes it possible to compare the two coastal routes by their layout and total distance.

Off Hollywood Beach lies Guardians of the Reef, an artificial nearshore reef structure in approximately 10 feet of water. It is accessible to snorkelers and divers from shore. This adds another coastal activity to the land-based routes: visitors who want to explore the coast in the water can make the reef a focus of their trip.

No passes are required at Dog Beach on Hollywood Beach; it is open from sunrise to sunset. Check local rules when planning your visit.

Mangroves and Biodiversity

Anne Kolb Nature Center encompasses a 1,501-acre coastal mangrove wetland with a diverse range of plant and animal life, including threatened and endangered species. The mangrove habitat and biodiversity give Hollywood’s nature offerings a distinct focus alongside the promenade and trail. When choosing between coastal and nature activities, you can also make the landscape itself a priority, rather than focusing only on a route.

Art, Performance and Music

ArtsPark at Young Circle is located in a 10-acre traffic circle on US 1 and Hollywood Boulevard in downtown Hollywood. The traffic circle is named after the city’s founder, Joseph Wesley Young. The Visual Arts Pavilion at ArtsPark at Young Circle includes a gallery and offers live glassblowing demonstrations. The demonstration program is subject to change.

The Hollywood Art and Culture Center in downtown Hollywood presents contemporary gallery exhibitions, live stage performances and high-quality educational programs for adults and children. The Hollywood Beach Theatre offers musical entertainment from 7 to 9 p.m. five evenings a week, Wednesday through Sunday. Performance days and times may change; check the schedule before your visit.

Market Offerings

The Yellow Green Farmers Market offers food and handcrafted goods. Events include live music and other market activities, such as yoga, art and dance classes. Goods and events are offered side by side here: the market combines food and crafts with music and classes.
