This gives you two distinct focuses to choose from when planning your trip within the community.

Waterfall and Reservoir in Ban Ta Poe

Huai Ta Poe Waterfall is in Ban Ta Poe, Village 8, in the Ban Kho subdistrict. Its water is shallow, and the surroundings are shady and quiet. The waterfall flows year-round, but with less water during the dry season. If water levels are important to you, take this seasonal change into account when planning.

From the paved Ban Non Sombun–Ban Ta Poe road, an access route about 300 meters long leads to the waterfall via a gravel road. On the road toward Ban Ta Poe, turn right before the bridge at the village entrance. Check road conditions before setting out, as they may change.

The Huai Ta Poe Reservoir is also in Ban Ta Poe, Village 8. It is part of the royally initiated development project for the upper Huai Bang Sai Basin. Several viewpoints are located on the dam crest and near the shore. The area around the reservoir also has islands, rapids, and rock formations. Seasonal morning mist is part of the reservoir landscape. At the waterfall, shade, quiet, and shallow water shape the experience; at the reservoir, the landscape includes viewpoints on the dam crest and near the shore, as well as islands, rapids, and rock formations.

There is a campsite on the grounds of the Center for Forest Restoration and Research at the reservoir. Facilities there also include a reception building, a kitchen, toilets, showers, lighting, tables, chairs, and parking. Before your trip, check directly with the center for current visitor and operating arrangements.
