With nearby Wat Don Sai, Ban Don Sai offers a cultural point of interest for a stay in Chachoengsao Province. When looking for a place to stay, compare its location with your planned destinations and arrange a temple visit in advance.

Wat Don Sai: construction history and remembrance

This Buddhist community temple belongs to the Maha Nikaya tradition. Its ordination hall and prang were built in 1870, when the temple was founded. This gives the complex a specific historical significance.

A viharn commemorates the former abbot Luang Pho Chuan, also known by his religious title, Phra Khru Thammaphaniworakhun. The hall was built as a memorial to him.

Songkran and planning your visit

A Songkran festival has also been held at Wat Don Sai to preserve the community’s Thai cultural traditions. If you would like to combine your stay with a celebration, ask locally for the current date and programme. You should also check visiting arrangements and access to the indoor areas before touring the complex.

Plan the journey from your chosen accommodation to the temple separately. An accommodation listing in Ban Don Sai does not automatically mean it is located right by the temple.
