Fuldera lies between the Rombach and larch forests; an alder floodplain forest lies near the Rombach. There are three different areas to focus on when planning your trip: culture in the old schoolhouse, hikes along the Rom and seasonal cross-country skiing. If you are looking for accommodation in Fuldera, you can first decide whether your travel dates should mainly revolve around an event, a hiking stage or winter sports. The planning questions differ: at Chastè, the programme matters; for a trip to the themed trail, the PostBus connection; and for cross-country skiing, snow and operating conditions.

Culture in the old schoolhouse and on the Promenada

Chastè da Cultura is located in Fuldera’s old schoolhouse and is a place for art, culture and meeting others. Guests are welcome. The programme includes theatre and cabaret, concerts, art exhibitions and various courses. This means the offering ranges from stage performances to exhibitions and courses. If you want to plan your stay around a specific date, the programme for that date is key: individual events may change, so it is worth checking what is on during your trip.

Another cultural landmark is the Promenada above Fuldera. There you can find works by the pastor and poet William Wolfensberger. Five benches showcase his works and offer a chance to enjoy the view. Thus, alongside the events programme at Chastè, literary works on the Promenada are also a focus; the two places offer different points of interest for culture-loving travellers.

Hiking along the Rombach

The «A la riva dal Rom» hiking trail is marked with trail signs 801. It begins at the source of the Rombach in Süsom-Tschierv and leads to Müstair. One section runs from Fuldera Furom to Valchava. In the river’s lower reaches, the trail passes through fens, over streams and past floodplains—a distinctive sequence of landscapes for anyone who wants to plan a hike along the water.

The hike can be divided into stages. You therefore do not have to plan the entire route as a single tour: Süsom-Tschierv and Müstair mark the endpoints of the route described, while Fuldera Furom–Valchava is named as a separate section. For planning, it helps to consider the full route and this locally specified section separately.

Keep the PostBus and place names in mind

The starting point of the «Senda da l'uors» themed trail can be reached by PostBus from Zernez or Müstair via the Fuldera d'Aint stop. Check the connection for seasonal changes before setting off. The place names help distinguish between the journey and the hiking stage: Fuldera d'Aint is the named stop for the themed trail; Fuldera Furom is the starting point of the described section of «A la riva dal Rom» to Valchava.

Cross-country skiing in the winter season

The «4 Palüds Fuldera – Rundlopie ‹La pitschna›» cross-country ski loop is rated easy and is 1.5 km long. The valley trail also runs across the flatlands around Fuldera; the valley’s cross-country skiing centre, the «Center da passlung», is in Furom. The short loop and these other cross-country skiing locations offer different points of reference for planning a winter stay. Snow and operations are seasonal. If cross-country skiing is the reason for your trip, check conditions for your travel dates.
