The Rävö recreation area is divided into three sections and offers shared paths and facilities. The coastal landscape includes shallow bays and grazed coastal meadows; there are birdwatching facilities at two locations. If you are looking for a holiday rental, consider whether you are more interested in finding your way around the recreation area, exploring the coastal landscape or watching birds.

Paths and orientation in the recreation area

Orientation maps and information are provided at the entrances to each of the three sections. The maps help you keep track of the layout of the recreation area while you are there. Roads and footpaths are jointly owned. This also includes a beach and a boat jetty; the shared boat jetty in the Rävö recreation area is at Dillehuvudet.

A walking and cycling path leads to the older boat jetty at Dillehuvudet. This gives you a specific destination for a walk or bike ride. There is also a bathing spot with a bathing jetty at Dillehuvudet. Check the condition of the bathing spot and its facilities before visiting. The path to the older boat jetty and the bathing spot offer different focuses: getting active on a named route or spending time at a place to swim.

The shared property covers more than 40 hectares in total, including large areas of woodland and green space as well as lush gardens. It is home to a rich variety of plant and animal life. So, in addition to paths and waterside facilities, woodland, green spaces and gardens are part of the area's character. This mix offers a different perspective on the recreation area than focusing solely on a jetty or a path.

Shallow bays and coastal meadows

Älgöleran is a very shallow sea bay near Styrsholmen and Rundö, close to Råssö. It is also part of the EU's Natura 2000 ecological network. Orrevikskilen is also a shallow sea bay, but has a different defining feature: large areas of grazed coastal meadows there are flooded at high tide. When comparing the two locations, Älgöleran stands out for its geographical setting and Natura 2000 status, while Orrevikskilen is notable for its coastal meadows and their relationship with high tide.

Birdwatching spots

Nöddökilen has a raised birdwatching platform, accessible via Rävövägen. The Orrevikskilen birdwatching tower is near the road towards Rossö. These location details give you two different reference points: Rävövägen for the platform and the road towards Rossö for the tower. Check the condition of the platform and tower before visiting.

The options described differ in what you can focus on during your stay: paths and shared facilities, distinctive coastal features or birdwatching. This lets you match your accommodation search to the travel interest that matters most to you in Rävö.
