Kebal can be explored through a variety of trails and waterways: the Kuststigen Kebal–Seläter is the hiking trail between Kebal and Seläter; the Norra badrundan combines cycling with swimming spots, and the cable ferry Linfärjan Bojan runs between Canning and Kebal. If you are planning an overnight stay in Kebal, it helps to first consider which of these options you want to shape your stay.

The Kuststigen and the Kebal Trail

According to the local running club’s description, the Kebal Trail follows the Kuststigen and begins and ends at the Strömstad Golfklubb golf course. From central Strömstad, this golf course is on the other side of Kebalviken. Conditions on the Kebal Trail may change; check the current trail conditions before setting out.

The Kuststigen Kebal–Seläter is a 3 km hiking trail. Between Nötholmen and Seläter, it passes through residential areas, over hills and along stretches of shoreline. Its length gives you a concrete planning reference; the described route adds a variety of terrain. Check the markers and trail conditions before hiking.

Nötholmen: Trails and History

The Nötholmen nature reserve is right next to Kebal and the Strömstad Spa Resort. There are about 3 km of scenic trails through varied woodland and coastal landscapes. Nötholmen is also home to traces and remains of the siege of Norway by Charles XII. The landscape and the history offer two different points of interest in the same place. If you are interested in both, you can take both into account when planning your visit.

Cycling and Swimming Spots

The Norra badrundan runs near Kebal as a cycling route with swimming spots north of Strömstad. These include Röudden, opposite Kebal’s small-craft harbour. It has a rocky shoreline and a bathing jetty. Those who want to combine cycling and swimming spots can find this connection on the Norra badrundan; the Kuststigen is a separate hiking option. Route details may vary by season, so check them before making your plans.

Marina and Cable Ferry

Strömstad Marina in Kebalviken offers berths for large and small boats. The marina has toilets, showers and a laundry room, as well as a shop for boating supplies. Berth availability may change. If you are planning to use a berth, check availability in advance.

The unmanned cable ferry Linfärjan Bojan runs between Canning and Kebal across Bojarkilen. If you plan to use this connection, check the current timetable.

Choose accommodation to suit your plans
