Trencianské Teplice can be explored in several ways: thermal pools and healing springs are complemented by a historic hammam, a large spa park and a narrow-gauge railway. Thermal Water and Pools
The heated GRAND outdoor pool is available to spa guests, visitors to Trencianské Teplice and the town’s residents. The Trenčianska elektrická železnica is a 116-year-old narrow-gauge railway connecting the railway junction at Trenčianska Teplá with the spa town of Trenčianske Teplice. It offers irregular tourist passenger services. If you plan to include the train in your journey, check the timetable in advance, as tourist services do not run regularly.
A marked cycle route also leads from Trenčianske Teplice to Trenčianska Teplá. When planning, it is useful to distinguish between the two options: the railway connects the junction with the spa town, while the marked cycle route is described as a route between the two towns. You can first consider whether a tourist train ride or the cycle connection better suits your plans, and take the railway’s irregular service into account.
Spa Park and Cultural History
The spa park in Trencianské Teplice is an 18-hectare English-style park established in 1873. Its size and design add an independent landscape attraction to the bathing facilities. The Kursalon offers a different focus: it was built in 1892 as a social and cultural venue, and concerts and balls of a high standard have been held there ever since. Its historic role is part of the spa town’s cultural history, but this does not imply a current events programme.
Traditional crafts were also featured at a specific edition of the Festival ľudových remesiel. At the 23rd festival, visitors could learn about traditional work processes and techniques, as well as view and buy handcrafted products. There was also a craft market and an extensive cultural programme. This edition illustrates a cultural focus alongside thermal water, architecture and parkland, without making any claims about a current festival programme.
