Three clearly different route lengths are worth considering when planning walks around Poriadie: the 2.284-kilometre Poriadie–Rudník nature trail, an approximately 3-kilometre path to the memorial in Krivosudy, and the 10.3-kilometre hiking trail No. 5116. Destinations range from information boards to historic memorial sites. You can therefore make your choice based on route length and the focus you prefer.

Landscape and Settlement Pattern

Poriadie lies on the low slopes of the Myjava Hills. Part of the village is situated on the southwestern foothills of the White Carpathians, below the Javorina Massif. Its distinctive feature is its strongly scattered settlement pattern, typical of the kopaničiarska settlement form. These geographical features give the village a different setting from a compact town: its appearance is shaped by scattered settlement and the landscape.

Memorial Sites and History

A partisan group was stationed in the Krivosudy area in October 1944. The partisan site includes the Zbojníčka spring and earth bunkers built there by the partisans. The bunkers in Krivosudy are preserved and furnished with simple wooden bunks that served as beds. These details make the site’s history tangible through specific physical remains.

The U Klasovitých memorial commemorates the last battle of the first campaign of the insurgent army of the Slovak Revolution in 1848. The memorial complex was officially unveiled in 1968. A staircase lined with trees leads to the memorial. Another landmark is the Dibrovov Memorial on the ridge of the White Carpathians. These sites connect different historical themes: the 1848 Revolution, partisan history and remembrance of resistance during the Second World War.

Events Throughout the Year

Events are also among Poriadie’s cultural attractions. The public goulash-cooking competition was held in 2024 as its eighth edition, in 2025 as its ninth, and in 2026 as its tenth. Jarný slnovrat is a traditional pre-Easter event held at the Poriadie Cultural Centre. If you want to plan your trip around a specific event, check the dates for the relevant year in advance.

Hiking Trails by Distance

The Poriadie–Rudník nature trail is 2.284 kilometres long and follows paved paths and forest tracks. It includes three stops with information boards. Another option is the green-marked trail from Poriadie to the memorial in Krivosudy: it is approximately 3 kilometres long and described as easy. Check the trail conditions before setting out.

At 10.3 kilometres, the green-marked hiking trail No. 5116 is the longest route described here. It runs from Poriadie railway station via Zemlianky, the SNP Memorial and Prídolie to the Dibrovov Memorial on the Czech border. At the Dibrovov Memorial, the green-marked trail meets the long-distance Cesta hrdinov SNP trail. The memorial stands on the ridge of the White Carpathians. Compared with the shorter nature trail and the approximately 3-kilometre route to Krivosudy, No. 5116 offers a significantly longer option with several named points along the way.

Getting Around the Village

A smart bicycle shelter is located in the centre of Poriadie. It has a charger for six e-bikes and a touchscreen information panel where visitors can access useful information. The railway station is named after the municipality. The railway line running through Poriadie was built and opened in 1930; trail No. 5116 also starts at the station. The station and the trail route are therefore two useful landmarks to keep in mind when planning your stay.
