When choosing a destination, Dolné Naštice offers several specific points of interest: the Bebrava River and its landscape, local memorials and religious sites, and rail and road connections. The village lies on a gentle slope at an altitude of 205 m; elevations within the municipality range from 187 to 275 m. These figures provide context for the landscape, while the buildings and river offer concrete points of reference for the area.

The Bebrava and the landscape

The Bebrava flows through the municipality of Dolné Naštice for 2.4 km in a north–south direction. The village lies on the left-hand floodplain of the river and on a spur of the Nitra loess hills of Bánovce. The river course and the shape of the landscape describe different aspects of its geographical setting: the length refers to the section within the municipality, while the floodplain and loess hills locate the village.

The elevation of 205 m describes the village on the gentle slope; the range from 187 to 275 m refers to the municipality. The specific elevation of the village and the wider elevation range therefore represent two different geographical scales.

Chapel, memorial and local history

A memorial to those who fell in the First World War stands in front of the church, commemorating 16 residents of Dolné Naštice who died in the war. Its precise location makes the memorial part of local history.

The Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes (Kaplnka Lurdskej Panny Márie) stands at a crossroads on the road towards Biskupice. It is a single-nave, Pseudo-Romanesque building dating from the second half of the 19th century. Pseudo-Romanesque refers to the use of Romanesque design forms; single-nave describes a building with one main nave. Other features include a semicircular altar apse and a small built-in tower.

The style, floor plan, altar apse and small tower offer different points of reference for understanding the chapel’s architecture. Together with its date, they give a specific picture of this local religious building, without conflating its features with a general description of churches.

A wooden cross has been preserved to this day by the Bebrava River. It complements the memorial in front of the church with another local point of reference, this one by the river. The Catholic choir, which sings at Mass in Dolné Naštice, is also part of the community’s religious life.
