A former church building, two bell towers and a short learning trail offer different ways to explore Miloslavov: through crafts, local history and nature. The municipality lies in the upper part of Žitný ostrov island, in the Podunajská nížina lowlands. For planning your visit, the seasonal opening hours of the craft courtyard are especially important; check conditions for the learning trail and cycle route before setting off.

Crafts in the oldest historic monument

The former church building stands on Námestie sv. Alžbety and is now used as the Podunajský remeselný dvor. It is the oldest historic monument in Miloslavov. It was built as a church no later than the early 14th century and dedicated to Saint Elizabeth of Hungary. Its current use as a craft courtyard links the building’s history with artisanal work.

Blacksmiths, woodcarvers, weavers and potters from the surrounding area regularly demonstrate their crafts there using original tools and pass their skills on to future generations. Individual visits are possible from April to October, on Saturdays and Sundays from 2 to 4 p.m. Check the seasonal opening hours and current demonstration programme before travelling.

Two bell towers, different building histories

The Alžbetin Dvor bell tower stands in Alžbetin Park. Local residents built it in 1947; its design was based on the construction of a wind pump belonging to the farmer Jirsák. In the past, the bell tower served as a death knell and a fire warning signal. Another bell tower stands in Sadová Park: in 1935, settlers in Miloslavov built the first steel tower of its kind there. Dating from 1935, the tower in Sadová is the older of the two structures; the Alžbetin Dvor bell tower was built in 1947.

A monument near Lipový Park was erected in 2021 to mark the 100th anniversary of the founding of the municipality of Miloslavov. The Baptist prayer house in Miloslavov was ceremonially opened on 7 November 1926. These places represent different chapters in the area’s history.

Learning trail and cycle route

The Náučný chodník Miloslavov learning trail in Alžbetin Dvor starts at the ramp at the corner of Južná and Agátová streets and is about 500 metres long. A route description published in 2023 lists five panels: on the seasons, local trees, a maze with animal tracks, flowers, and parents and young animals. The learning trail therefore offers a different focus from the area’s architectural and craft history. Check local conditions before your walk.

A direct cycle route between Dunajská Lužná and the Alžbetin Dvor district was ceremonially opened in June 2026. Check route conditions before setting off.

Church services and travel planning

Regular Roman Catholic services are scheduled at the Church of Divine Mercy in AlĹľbetin Dvor: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 6 p.m., Saturdays at 7:30 a.m., and Sundays at 7:30 and 10:30 a.m. If you plan to attend a service, check the times in advance.
