Číž brings together Číž Spa, a spa area surrounded by a park, and several cultural monuments, each offering a different reason to visit. When planning your trip, it is worth separating two questions: would you like to focus on the bathing facilities, or would you prefer walks and the town’s architectural history to shape your stay? Číž Spa is open to the public as well as to patients. It has been operating year-round since 1956; check the current details of the facilities before travelling.

Spa tradition and bathing facilities

Číž Spa has a tradition spanning more than a hundred years. Ample quantities of mineral water from three springs made it possible to build the spa. The historical record includes the spring names Themis, Hygiea and Neptune: Themis is described as an iodine spring, and Hygiea as a saltwater spring. Neptune is also named as a spring.

The swimming and bathing area includes a swimming pool and a non-swimmers’ pool, both with a stated water temperature of 28 °C. There is also a massage pool with water jets and a temperature of up to 36 °C, as well as a small pool with water attractions at 34 °C. A lagoon beneath a three-lane slide has a water temperature of 27 °C. Comparing the pools gives you an overview of their different temperatures and features without having to go through a long list of individual facilities.

The Vodný svet outdoor swimming complex is open during the summer season, from June to September, to guests staying at the spa and to the public. Its seasonal opening differs from the year-round operation of the spa. If visiting the outdoor pool is important to your trip, check the current dates in advance.

Park, walks and cycling

Číž Spa is surrounded by a park. The municipality recommends walks in the spa park; seasonal conditions may affect outdoor activities. The wider area is flat, with gently rolling hills. It is also suitable for cycling tourism. This gives you different options: walks in the spa park and cycling in the surrounding area. Which one shapes your stay depends on whether you would rather plan a walk or a bike ride.

Cultural monuments in Číž

The town’s architectural history includes a manor house from the late 18th century and a Reformed church from the late 19th century; both are designated cultural monuments. Spa buildings from the late 19th century also have this monument status. Their dates mark an earlier and a later period: the manor house dates back further, while the church and spa buildings date from the late 19th century. As well as bathing facilities, Číž therefore offers a cultural and historical perspective on buildings from different periods and with different functions.

When choosing your destination, you can weigh these options against one another: the long spa tradition and bathing area, the seasonal opening of Vodný svet, walks and cycling, or the cultural monuments. This lets you shape your stay in Číž around the topics that interest you most, without treating the different seasonal and activity offerings as though they were the same.
