The new cycling route from Góralice towards Rów is open for use; its official completion was announced in September 2026. Rów brings together a current cycling connection and traces of the past: alongside the route along a former railway embankment, the village has a historic church and the archaeological settlement site “osada Rów”, site 14.

Cycling route and road connections

The cycling route follows the embankment of a disused railway line. The new section connects the existing BLUE-VELO route in Góralice with the West Pomeranian Lakeland route. This information provides clear guidance for anyone whose travel plans focus particularly on cycling routes and their course: both the embankment’s former use and the two named routes are part of the description.

Two road connections also pass through Rów, but differ in their names and directions. National Road 26 runs through the village along the route from the state border via Krajnik Dolny and Chojna to Myślibórz. The northern route “Droga 1000 Jezior”, intended for motor vehicles, passes through Rów between Trzcińsko-Zdrój and Golenice. This makes it possible to distinguish the cycling route section from the two explicitly named road routes.

Historical traces in Rów

The filial church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary (pw. Nawiedzenia Najświętszej Maryi Panny) in Rów is a historic church. Another historical reference is the archaeological settlement site “osada Rów”, listed as site 14. The church and settlement site represent different aspects of local history: one is a specific historic building, the other an archaeological site. Alongside the route, visitors interested in history will therefore find a distinct local point of interest.

More cultural highlights in the wider destination of Soldin

The wider destination of Soldin includes several historic buildings and urban features in Myślibórz. The Old Town preserves a medieval street plan; the Nowogródzka Gate remains in the defensive walls. The town hall is late Baroque, with Rococo and early Neoclassical features. The Collegiate Church of St John the Baptist stands next to the market square. Together, these buildings form a distinct focus on the history and architecture of Myślibórz.

The Muzeum Pojezierza Myśliborskiego also brings together a range of cultural themes. Four exhibitions are currently open to visitors: “Myślibórz we wczesnym średniowieczu”, “Z dziejów Myśliborza”, “Historia i etnografia”, and the “M” Gallery of contemporary art. Recurring events in Myślibórz include the Jarmark Klasztorny, an open-air festival with a historical and cultural character held annually around the turn of May and June. The Spotkania Młodych Autorów i Kompozytorów Piosenki “SMAK” im. Jonasza Kofty takes place every September. Young singers, authors, composers and performers participate, while acclaimed composers and artists lead workshops. Dni Myśliborza is also a recurring outdoor event for residents of the town and surrounding area, as well as for tourists. If you are planning your trip around an event, check the specific dates in advance.

Nature, water and cycling in the wider destination of Soldin

In Myślibórz municipality, the “Długogóry” and “Tchórzyno” nature reserves protect different landscapes. Długogóry comprises a terminal moraine landscape with numerous erratic boulders, Pomeranian beech forest and small bodies of water with aquatic and marsh vegetation. Tchórzyno protects, for scientific and educational purposes, a peat bog with rich, rare vegetation growing on lake marl, as well as a silted-up lake with underwater meadows. Both reserves are located in Myślibórz municipality.

Jezioro Myśliborskie is suitable for recreation and water sports. In Myślibórz, there are two bathing areas on the lake monitored by WOPR lifeguards: at ul. Szarych Szeregów and os. XX-lecia PRL. Another cycling stage in the wider destination of Soldin is the fully completed 60 km Myślibórz–Barlinek–Choszczno route. It runs mostly along paved cycling paths built on a former railway line. By contrast, the section from Góralice towards Rów focuses on the railway embankment and its connection to two named cycling routes.
