Rosnowo lies on the western edge of the 189-hectare Lake Rosnowskie. Its location anchors the town in a specific landscape; at the same time, named routes pass through Rosnowo. This brings the lake as a local point of reference and travel along longer routes together. When planning your trip, it is worth keeping these perspectives separate: a stay can be planned around the water, while each route has its own course and length. To compare the options, you can first choose the activity you want and then select a specific route.

Water routes on the lake

The Radwiański Szlak Kajakowy is 58 kilometres long. It passes across Lake Rosnowskie to Rosnowo and continues along the Kanał Rosnowski. The route follows the former riverbed of the Radew through Kępno, Mostowo, the lake and Rosnowo, and on to the canal. Rosnowo is thus part of a route that continues beyond the lake to the Kanał Rosnowski. The reference to the former riverbed also ties the route to the Radew: this is a different geographical reference from the lake, even though both are part of the same route. The figure of 189 hectares describes the area of the lake, while 58 kilometres is the length of the kayak route. These two figures help distinguish the size of the landscape from the scale of the route. Check local conditions before paddling.

There is also a watersports equipment rental service in Rosnowo. It is a separate local watersports amenity alongside the kayak route: the route describes a course across the lake and along the canal, while the rental service offers a local way to hire equipment. It is best to check in advance what equipment is available and when the rental service is open.

Walking and cycling routes

The red, 50-kilometre Szlak im. Józefa Chrząszczyńskiego runs from Góra Chełmska through Rosnowo to Tychowo. In the municipality of Manowo, it is a walking and cycling route. In addition, a 25-kilometre section of the same trail runs through Góra Chełmska, Maszkowo, Lubiatowo, Rosnowo and Kurozwęcz; this section is also a walking and cycling route. The distance figures refer to different extents: 50 kilometres refers to the route from Góra Chełmska through Rosnowo to Tychowo, while 25 kilometres refers to a section. When comparing them, it is therefore important to distinguish between the longer route and the 25-kilometre section, rather than treating the figures as competing total lengths. Check the current trail markings before setting out.

A technical point of interest

Rosnowo is also home to a hydrotechnical building complex. Hydrotechnical refers to an engineering connection with water and distinguishes the complex from the lake as a landscape feature. For travellers interested in water-engineering structures as well as landscapes and routes, this offers another way to explore Rosnowo.
