A narrow-gauge railway station dating from 1912 and cycling routes that start, end or loop back to Manowo offer tangible points of interest. This makes it possible to explore Manowo from different perspectives: through its railway and architectural history, its natural features and its varied cycling routes.

Location and orientation

Manowo lies on the Dzierżęcinka River and National Road No. 11, 12 km southeast of Koszalin. The river, road and direction establish the town’s geographical location and help you weigh Manowo as a possible place to stay compared with Koszalin.

Railway and architectural history

The narrow-gauge railway station in Manowo was built in 1912. Another railway landmark is the Koszalińska Kolej Wąskotorowa, a 19th-century technical monument protected by law. It runs on the Koszalin–Manowo (12 km) and Koszalin–Rosnowo (20 km) routes, carrying tourists and excursion groups. The route lengths offer a clear comparison: the connection to Manowo is shorter than the one to Rosnowo.

The Church of Our Lady Help of Christians (Matki Bożej Wspomożycieli Wiernych) is also part of the town’s architectural history; it was built between 1980 and 1983. Together with the station and the narrow-gauge railway’s designation as a technical monument, these historical connections span from the 19th century to the late decades of the 20th century. If cultural interests are an important factor in choosing a trip, you’ll find both an older railway heritage and a church building with precise dates here.

Nature on Czapla GĂłra

Czapla GĂłra has the character of a forest park and is a nesting site for grey herons. It is also home to a group of five pedunculate oaks with trunk circumferences of up to 490 cm. These natural features add a specific bird species and a particular group of trees to the description of the area as a forest park. The preserved naturalistic park in Manowo is another point of interest: it is listed in the heritage register.

Cycling routes with different itineraries

The red Szlak Morenowej Przełęczy cycling route is 14 km long. It runs from Manowo via Policko, Maszkowo and Kłos; it starts in Manowo at the beginning of the road to Wyszebórz. The green Szlak Spichlerzy is 32 km long and runs from Mścice via Biesiekierz, Dunowo, Jarzyce and Świeszyno to Manowo.

Another route is the Trasa Słoneczna. It passes through Manowo, Niedalino and Zacisze before returning to Manowo. The routes differ in more than just length: the red route starts in Manowo, the green one ends there, and the Trasa Słoneczna returns to its starting point. This helps you choose between a route starting from Manowo, a ride to the town and a route that loops back to Manowo.

Considering Manowo as a place to stay

If you’re looking for a holiday apartment, you can assess Manowo based on the things that matter for your stay: its railway and architectural history, the natural features of Czapla Góra or the cycling routes described here. Its location 12 km southeast of Koszalin also gives you a clear geographical reference. This lets you choose where to stay according to your trip’s specific interests.
