Bobolice can be explored through several distinct themes: the protected globe flower, which blooms in May; a 24-kilometre route to stone circles; the regional museum; and two summer organ concerts. This mix can help you choose when to visit and what to focus on: nature, a longer walk, collections or music each offer a different way to experience the place.

Nature and routes in Bobolice

The northernmost site where the globe flower grows is in Bobolice. Its lemon-yellow to golden-yellow flowers open in May; the plant is protected by law. This gives visitors interested in plants and landscapes a clearly defined seasonal point of reference. The flowering period provides a clear guide to when to visit.

At 24 kilometres, the “Szlak Pełnika Europejskiego” is a longer route. It begins at the globe flower meadows in Bobolice and passes through Ubiedrze and Kępiste, near the Wrzosowiec forest nursery, before reaching the stone circles in the Bobolice Forest District. The flowers and the route raise different planning considerations: the flowers point to May, while the route has a defined course and total length. Check the current condition of the route locally before planning to walk it.

Collections and history at the regional museum

The Muzeum Regionalne w Bobolicach displays some of its collections in permanent exhibitions comprising seven departments: archaeology, ethnography, gallery, the history of Bobolice, military collections, prison art and natural history. Several thematic areas complement this structure. The exhibits thus range from local history and archaeology to natural history and art.

The museum collects, preserves and displays archaeological and military exhibits, tools and everyday objects from the pre-war period, as well as items brought by Polish settlers after the Second World War. The collections also include documents on the history of Bobolice, the Bobolice area and Pomerania, as well as coins, decorations, medals, works of folk and fine art, and natural history exhibits. They therefore connect local history with themes that look beyond the town to Pomerania. The exhibition layout may change; check which sections are currently on display before your visit.

Summer organ concerts

Every summer, two organ concerts are held at the Church of the Assumption of Mary in Bobolice as part of the Koszalin International Organ Festival. Music is therefore a seasonal reason to visit; unlike the globe flower’s link with May, the concert programme takes place in summer. Check the dates for the current festival edition before planning your stay around it.
